We arrived with a group, but Alvear winery was gracious, patient and gave a well described talk of their wine-making process. The hundreds of barrels aging in storage was quite a sight. Worth a stop if it is on your route.

Hi. I called them the evening before. They speak English, if you need :). You may be able to make the tour without booking, I don't know for sure. But there's not so many slots.
