Cooking experience
Jan 2020
We were part of an 8 person group. Shopping in the market was a pleasant experience and I was really pleased that we were not doing fish. Interesting to see the different vegetables that are just not available in our local Waitrose.
The cooking demonstration and practicals were good fun as well as learning. Good pace to the lessons and no one fell behind. We go to eat what we cooked and that was good too. The teacher was very careful about allergies and adjusted for individuals where necessary. A really pleasant experience.

Friendly, Fun and Informative Session, Highly Recommended
Jul 2018 • Couples
Prior to arrival, I was browsing for cooking class in Phuket. Of all cooking schools
I contacted, Phuket Easy Thai Cooking is the most responsive and willing to cater my request on picking me and husband up at airport and all were at affordable price. Karn is the Head Chef, and she greet us at the market. She brought us to tour the market, bought some ingredients and offered to buy us breakfast there. We had some coffee and local deserts and snap some photos at the market.
Along the way to the cooking school, she shared some info on that area, brought us for a short sightseeing and finally arrived at the school. It is a moderate size area which can cater around 10 pax and clean area for cooking. She grows some herbs outside her class and showed us which we plucked some for the class.
We cooked 3 main dishes and 1 type of deserts. The class was fun and informative, Karn loves making jokes and shared useful info while cooking. We cooked thai green curry, pad thai, tom yam kung and sticky rice mango.
After we cooked all our dishes, it is already lunch time and we had them for lunch and take away the leftovers. Before concluding the class, we snap more photos before heading to our hotel. Karn drove us back and she was being a very good host by putting on music and also we chat along the way.
During our stay in Phuket, we still communicated through Whatsap and she was sharing more info on Phuket tours and weather and safety warnings since it is almost monsoon season in July and recent incident on boat capsize in Phuket.
In summary, we had a good time and we highly recommend Phuket Easy Thai Cooking to all!

A Must Do Activity for Phuket
Apr 2018 • Solo
There are a number of cooking schools popping up for Phuket, but this one really hits the mark. The Chef picked me up personally at my hotel and we went shopping at the market. She took time to explain everything and anything at the market. Her English is good and she is very easy to understand, but her personality is so sweet. She talked about everything at the market, and then we headed to the kitchen. What a great facitlity. She can accommodate, a good crowd, 10 people I think, but usually takes a smaller group of about 6. This gives her and her assistant plenty of time to demonstrate and work with each student. She will tailor the dishes to your likes and work with you as necessary. But as I say, it is her warmth and personality that made this a really fun day, cooking Thai dishes and enjoying the Thai culture. Don’t miss a chance to have a cooking lesson here!

wonderful experience, im gonna cook Thai from now on. And the host was very friendly and gave the lesson in a very professional way so we could learn properly and showed us the ingredients and what could work as a replacement if you can't find one.
I totally recommend it

Wonderful cooking class but terrible experience when booking the elephant sanctuary with the company!
Nov 2017 • Couples
The Thai cooking class was a great experience. We learnt about all the traditional Thai dishes.

The lady Karn also does other activities, for example, beach day trips and elephant sanctuary trips. We booked an elephant sanctuary afternoon trip with her and she advised it will cost 5000 bhat. She also said she will pick us up for free in the morning and drop us to Kata Beach. This is where the elephant sanctuary tuk tuk picked us up for the trip.

We had an amazing afternoon at the elephant sanctuary and when we came to confirm payment, we realized we only paid 4000 bhat. We were a little confused because we transferred 5000 bhat to Karn's paypal so I asked her what happened.

In email exchanges, she said very clearly she will pick us up for free in the morning and the experience will cost a total of 5000 bhat. When I questioned her about the payment, she then said that she used our 4000 for the elephant sanctuary and the remaining 1000 was used for our taxi fare to pick us up, the paypal fee transfer and the rest was kept for Karn's commission.

We wanted to understand why she didn't tell us at first the elephant sanctuary will cost 4000 and she will use the rest of the money to pay for the taxi fare to pick us up. She shouldn't have said to us she will pick us up for free that wasn't very fair and honest.

She was very rude in her email when I asked her what happened. To be honest, I would rather have paid the elephant sanctuary directly the full price, at least it all goes to a good cause to help the elephants.

In the end, we were very disappointed and felt a little cheated. Would rather her be honest from the beginning. Be careful when booking other activities!!

Wonderful cooking lessons
Oct 2017 • Solo
Natural ingredients, healthy & nutritious meals, detailed instructions personalised to each client during the lesson, patient and knowledgeable instructor.

Went to the market with the Head Chef to purchase fresh ingredients then headed off to the Kitchen which is open planned and spacious and very clean.

A must for anyone who loves to cook food.

Looking forward to the next few lessons real soon!!

A wonderful experience, picked up by our host from our hotel, then taken shopping in local market to get ingredients for class, we also got to include rose apple to try as we had never had it before :) Our host/chef was extremely helpful, informative and fun, and the 4 course meal we prepared, cooked and ate was truly delicious - would recommend this to anyone, even if you don't like to cook so much - thank you for the experience

Great experience
Apr 2017 • Couples
This is an authentic Thai cooking class.

We chose a Thursday full day cooking class. Everyday you have 3 options.
1) morning class
2) Afternoon class
3) Full day covering both classes but also a lesson in making coconut milk & coconut oil.

Each class covers a visit to the local very impressive supermarket, 3 meals & a dessert.
Each class has different meals so can I suggest you take a look at their website to choose which class you prefer .

The great thing about the class is it is hands on and limited to a maximum 12 people. On our full day, we were the only couple in the morning were joined by another couple in the afternoon ( low season ) this allowed us to adjust the menu on the chef's suggestion.

If we had any gripe about the course, there are two.

1) In both sessions we cooked sticky rice & mango for dessert, it would have been great for two different desserts on the same full day.

2) The second not like other courses where you share the cooking, at this one, every person cooks every dish. Yes, That means you cook & EAT 3 dishes & dessert each. Far to much to eat. If you want you can take home what you can't eat, however most visitors are staying in motel's so reheating is an issue.

This cooking class is well worth doing, a very friendly informative hands on class. Very easy to follow and learn extra tips.

We will definitely cook these recipes at home now we know how easy it is to adjust to your own taste buds.

Amazing food, amazing coach, great environment. Lots of family hints for Thai cuisine, worth every minute spent in the class! Next time in Phuket I will go to learn other dishes.
