I'd heard of Kata Scuba through other reviews I'd read before heading out to Phuket. We first popped our heads into the dive centre on Kata Beach, we almost settled for their offer but we headed over to Kata Scuba to just double check and make a comparison. So glad we did.
Bank and his dad Andre were super accomodating when we got to the centre and helped us with pricing and multiple dive options. I was completing the referral for my Open Water Course and managed to get 4 dives from Kata Beach sorted across two days. My girlfriend booked in to do the King Cruiser wreck dive and swears that it was one of the best dive sites she has visited.
Highly recommend using Kata Scuba for your dives in Phuket. Great service, competitive prices and supporting a local business.
If we head back to Phuket we'll be heading to Kata Scuba immediately.

Was looking for a Padi accredited dive shop to go diving with when I stumbled across Kata Scuba. They where very professional from the second I walked in, and they are fluent in English, which is rare around here. I ended up doing my Advanced Open Water through them, and found the owner to be very knowledgeable, taking his time to teach me all I need to know.
If you are planning to dive in Thailand, or maybe even considering a course, I would definitely recommend them, especially if you're English...

Hi, this review is a bit late, but I wanted to give a shout out to Kata Scuba for our great experiences. My wife and I first went to Kata beach in Nov. 2014 to do some diving. I read some reviews online and went to a few dive shops in the area with good ratings, but they all felt like diving snobs. After feeling disappointed we rode our scooter around the beach area to cool off from the heat and frustration. I happen to see Kata Scuba, and decided to give one last try. We were pleasantly surprise Andre and Bank took the time to answer all our questions about the dive sites in the area, so we could decide which one we would like. We decided to book dives with them to Koh Racha Noi, and Koh Racha Yai for the next day. The dive master we had was wonderful. He went at our pace, and we always felt safe. The diving site itself was good and he even took some pictures of us diving. We like them so much that we booked with them again the following day to dive Koh Phi Phi, and Koh Bida. The dive master again was great, and these 2 dive sites are awesome. we saw lots of fish and coral, but the highlight was swimming with a turtle and watching it eat for 5 minutes.
In March of 2017 we wanted to get our AOW so we did not hesitate. We took the course with Kata Scuba, Carmillo was our instructor. He was a great taking the time to explain everything in detail. I especially like how he did the underwater navigation. It was much simpler the way he explained it. He also took some great photos of us doing our underwater studies. After we got AOW we wanted to do a 3 day live-aboard to the Similan Islands. Again Andre and Bank took care of us from the booking of the boat to the use of their equipment. Everything went smoothly and the diving was amazing especially around the Richelieu Rock.
If you are ever in Phuket and are looking to do some diving. Stop by and see Bank and Andre. Just talk to them and decide for yourself.

My wife and I elected to try diving, and were directed to Kata Scuba, by a friend. Fantastic, the staff were friendly and helpful, and we found the sea life to equal what we saw in the Maldives. In terms of vale for money and enjoyment, I have no hesitation in recommending this crew of experienced divers, with a comprehensive knowledge of the pick of local diving.

After doing my Open Water Padi on Ko Phi Phi I was eager to go diving, but still feeling a bit insecure. I came to the shop on Friday asking for dive trips the next day. Bank told me all the possibilities I had and after I finally decided on one trip. I mentioned that I'm still missing some confidence and he gave me a dive master just for me to make me feel more secure than I would have in a group dive.
The equipment was in good condition and I got a diving computer without asking for it. Ging, the dive master, took pictures during the dive, which I received later. Everybody was really nice and the dive sites were beautiful.

My friend and I turned up at Kata Scuba's dive shop in Kata beach area on the Saturday, looking to do a liveaboard for 4 days the following monday. The team were very professional, and described the options available to us. Given that neither of us have dived for several years they offered us a free review session on the Sunday afternoon in the pool (weather wasn't great so shallow water around the beach would have had poor vis) - this lasted about 3 hours, with two instructors, and we went through everything until we were comfortable with all aspects.
All the diving equipment Kata Scuba provided us was very new and clean.
In our agreement with Kata Scuba, we were provided with a Divemaster for our whole trip. This improved our diving experience as it meant there were just two of us with our DM, instead of going with a group of four or five. Additionally, she took lots of photos of us, the fish and the life below the surface, which will be sent to us in due course.
They also provided us with a dive computer (we didn't ask for this so it was a nice extra).
When we arrived back they welcomed us with a beer and a whisky before taking us to our hotel and making sure everything was ok.
Genuine and nice team, hard-working and honest. I would recommend diving with them, and asking them for their advice as to where to go.

I had a fantastic day with Kata Scuba. They provide second to none service and it was pleasure to deal with. Special thanks to my amazing instructor Angie who went over and above to introduce me to scuba diving. Next time I would have no hesitation to dive with them again.

Kata Scuba, is the best dive center in town I highly recommend this business! Great customer service with helpful responses to any query as well as really information on the dive sites themselves, we got to see wonderful spots inside caves that on-one else knew about on the boat trip dives. As well as having all the different marine life pointed out to you and what to look out for before you even get in the water. With some wonderful memories to take home & awesome photos too, would go back here anytime.
Thank you so very very much!!! :)

We were walking along the road and Kata Scuba was the first dive centre we saw. We went in and met Andre. I knew immediately I had made the right choice. He has been Diving in Phuket over 30 years and was extremely knowledgeable. I needed some fins and a mask and he was kind enough to drive me to AquaMaster where I was able to get what I needed. I enjoyed his company immensely and the boats he set me up on and the dives guides he used were all top notch. As far as I'm concerned, he was the best thing about my trip to Phuket. I have no hesitation to recommend him if you are going diving there.
