We ate at 'Kata Night Market' mainly because it was near our hotel and it was the most affordable place (although it was still more expensive than places in Bangkok; e.g. a chicken Pad Thai was 80 baht here). The food was okay but nothing to rave about, and eating at the market was not very pleasant as it was fairly dirty and over crowded. We took our food away on a couple of occasions which was nicer. There are a few items sold just beyond the food stalls like clothes and bags, but nothing extensive and probably over priced again (we didn't enquire about any products however).
In summary, a convenient place to visit for food if nearby, but nothing more than that.

We could always find something to try and at great prices. My favourite was the butter fried prawns with a cob of corn and a large Chang to share. Some souvenir shopping attached, but it gets pretty hot/muggy along the stalls in the enclosed area. Great location to our hotel.

Visited the Kata Night Market.. This is the place with the Superhero figures in front.. It seems that many people are confusing it with the walking street market that is like a block away.. It is a typical Phuket type market.. Prices are generally higher tjough Ate Food there.. The seafood was really good and absolutely fresh, however the walking street market like a block away is much cheaper with more variety...

We had been to this market some years ago and enjoyed it. Now that it's a covered market it's become a place where each food stall sells the same food, with a few variations. Seafood dominates the menus here, most at inflated prices. We had a whole fried fish with 2 sides - 300TB, so good value. We could have gotten the same meal at any of the other food stalls.
The food stall we chose had fish under ice, so we knew it was fresh. Other stalls used less ice and had more flies.
The clothing and tourist tat part of the market was small.

if you like to eat in a strong smell of shrimps, fish and meat, at an unstable table with plastic stools, from plastic plates and with plastic cutlery, then this is the place to be. But somehow tourists really love eating in this chaos, cause it’s always packed. The food on the market is not cheap though. A bit of this and a bit of that is soon more expensive than an average meal in a restaurant.

It's not a typical night market as I expected it to be. The stands are the same everyday and after 18.30 it gets really crowded there. The food is fine but in Kata there is better food for a lower price. For me it was not the place to be.

Good place to eat and meet the locals. I did not like the smell of some local food.
There are many foods and it is not easy to find a chair in this always crowded place.
In my opinion The shrimp is the best local dish there very delicious.

If you cannot handle crowds, have dinner at 6:30-7:30pm there. It's tasty and well priced. The seafood grill next to a corner bar especially. Grilled shrimps with squid and octopuss = heaven!

Seafood market with lots of seating and lots of stalls selling seafood and meats. Very nice food cooked in front of you. It’s very busy and hard work getting a table but there’s lots of selection of fresh foods which are delicious

Went to this place for a cheap bucket of cocktail and stayed for dinner. This is the place to go for good cheap street food . The variety was huge and included everything from whole roast chickens for 250 baht, Marinated pork ribs for 100 baht.5 large spring rolls for 100 baht. 15 prawns in garlic butter for 200 baht. Pity we found this place just before we left. It got so busy around 8 at night. People everywhere which means the food turns over very quickly.Lots of tables and chairs so it is easy to find a seat,
