Saturday 4th June, my wife and I decided to take a drive to the cradle. When we arrived there wasn't many people around so we could easily purchase tickets to enter. The facility was spotlessly clean and staff reasonably friendly however the afternoon lull was...More

This was an interesting unplanned trip. This is a vast complex which includes a hotel. The main attraction is a museum. The museum has exhibits about our responsibility to the planet. Later in the museum you see how small the footprint for human beings is....More

Our visit to the cradle of human kind was somewhat disappointing. Here are great discoveries to the origins of human kind, sadly the displays are a little confusing. Naturally, it should cater to young and old however, we found that some of the displays orientated...More

The visit to this area of historical significance has opened our minds of how humanity evolved through generations.

If you are in the Greater Jo'burg area this place is worth a visit. Really a two site visit. A visit to the actual Sterkfontein Caves, world-famous for their fossil finds including the remains of our oldest ancestor. Linked to this visitors should also drive...More

I would agree with the earlier answer. Our visit to view the exhibition and the caves took between 3 and 4 hours.
