Amazing little Pub, fantastic beer and cider collection. Good covid measures in place, staff wear masks, hand sanisters throughout. New tables out the front to help with spacing. Staff are really friendly, whether on your own or in a group.

Whether it's a swift one, or a longer evening, staff make sure there is space between customers and ensure everyone is very looked after.

Definately worth a visit!

My wife & I visited this micropub after reading about it. It's a little gem and is well worth a visit if you are visiting Leighton buzzard.
Our only gripe is that the landlord was extremely rude and shouting at his wife in front of us and another customer, she had gone out shopping for twenty minutes as there were only three customers in the pub and he didn't like it... He rang her mobile and left a nasty message which we could all hear then when she returned he really had a go at her then stormed off out telling her she could run the pub.....surely he must realise that this is not the thing to be done, in the 42 years I have been with my wife I would NEVER speak to my wife nor anyone else in the manner he did.
Apart from that the landlady made us a lovely lunch, homemade scotch eggs that were the best we have ever tasted, well worth the price, her manners were impeccable and although she apologised to us for her husbands behaviour we really didn't feel she needed to, it is a pity that she felt she had to really. We felt very sorry for her and my wife and I gave her a generous tip to hopefully treat herself to something nice as she deserves it having to put up with behaviour like that from someone who is old enough to know better!!

The Bald Buzzard Alehouse is a "Micro Pub". It has only been around for about a month but it already feels like a Leighton Institution. Championing local beers and ciders from micro breweries; especially Leighton Buzzard but also many others from the region. Inside there's seating for approx. 18 customers, but there's also an outdoor courtyard seating area, and standing room inside too.

If you feel unsure what to choose the owners are happy to discuss the products and offer advice. It's also possible to ask for a little tasting sample so you can re-assure yourself and order your preferred pint with confidence.

There's a special connection between the pub, the local brewery and the Leighton Buzzard Narrow Gauge Railway. They all cooperated together during the LBNGR fund raising beer festival.

I am looking forward to returning for lunch and sampling their Ploughman's.

I stopped by for the first time today. I easily fell into conversation with the owner, the bar staff and several customers. It's that kind of place. Friendly and "Real".

In conclusion; I'd like to say thanks for a great experience and welcome to Leighton Buzzard.

Dubious management manners. No space to social distance. Not recommended. As per government guidelines no name number taken.
Crammed in a small area at back with other people not distancing. Turned up at the pub and told to go around the back. Every available space was crammed with people.

Just went into this glorified shopfront to enquire as to whether I was allowed to bring my 14 year old daughter in on a Saturday night, and meet with friends before going out for a meal. The man behind the counter allowed me to peruse the list of beers and choose, before informing me my daughter wasn't allowed to be there. Real shame in this day and age

Good evening Paul First of all, Thankyou for bringing to our attention that you see our frontage as a "glorified shop front" however, as our building is listed we respect its history and wouldn't want to alter anything...if it ain't broke, why try and fix it... As you were giving our frontage an inspection and forming your already bigoted opinion (as you are, quite clearly a BIGot) of our business (which we have worked very hard for and built up a highly recommended place to visit by many of our customers, who have also become loyal patrons) you obviously FAILED to read that it states quite clearly on our entrance door both at the front and the rear of our premises that children under the age of 21 are not permitted. This, is a LEGAL stipulation of our licensing. How you managed to miss that bigots belief!!! As you had obviously already made your inaccurate opinion on our establishment being as false as our "shop frontage" being as you're that type of person anyway I personally am glad that you have chosen to slate us off on here...because to be perfectly honest with you Paul... I wouldn't want your "type" in our friendly, jovial, warm and welcoming little pub because your presence and your child's presence (though hopefully she won't be as obnoxious and blatantly self opinionated and rude as her father) may just put our friendly, happy crowd that we always accommodate in the bald buzzard off their beer and we really wouldn't want that, furthermore, your presence may just put our customers off wanting to be in our cosy little pub where you can have a decent pint and a good laugh without any supervision......that Paul, is exactly whom we actively seek and encourage to visit....so go take yourself and your friends...(that is if you really do have any with your bigoted viewpoint ) and your daughter to a mainstream public house that will accept anyone....yes even you! through their doors to increase their sales.... We are of the highest standards that we prefer quality over quantity every time...and our customers are of the highest quality....so please do not visit again.... With very warm wishes The bald buzzard alehouse owners and team...and customers xxxx

Visited this place with friends for the first time last month. Very small place, an average selection of beers but it’s a small area where they store their ales so they don’t have much room for a wider range. Beers were well chilled but expensive in our opinion. Staff appeared to be more interested in talking to their regulars rather than welcoming new faces ... But that’s their choice. Could do with a clean as our table was still sticky and the floor was dirty from the night before (we arrived early doors)
Wouldn’t go out of my way to visit again but if in the area on a session we would drop in for a swift one before moving down the high street where there is a more friendly buzz and cheaper beer

Went here for the first time and it will not be the last. What a quirky little pub. The place is tiny but that makes it all the friendlier. Marvelous selection of ales and beers and ciders... A small selection of food is available but that is not what you come here for. Great atmosphere more like a club than a pub! Good selection of board games if you get bored!

This is a small establishment, not a shop as some seem to think, for selling high quality ale and cider. There are some wines and bottled beers available, but alehouse by name alehouse by nature. From the first time I visited a warm welcome was offered as well as a taste of anything before you buy.

Being a small place, it can get crowded, but it's never made me feel uncomfortable. Everyone is friendly, and I mean everyone. Yeah, so you may not like every customer, and not every customer may like you, but there is never rudeness etc. The Landlord and Landlady would NEVER allow that. I've struck up more DECENT random conversations here than in 99% of pubs I have visited in >30yrs of pubbing.

It's also dog friendly, ALWAYS a good sign in my book.

Prior to having the pleasure, as Town Mayor, of attending the Grand Opening of the Bald Buzzard, I rarely went for a drink in Town. The ambience, the wonderful choice of excellent beers, and the pleasure of the company both sides of the bar have led to me enjoying a pint (or maybe 2!) at least once a week. Thank you to Phil and Ali for proving that the genuine pub atmosphere is still alive and kicking!

I Visited here first on my Day off from another local pub after seeing an article in the Local newspaper, I have to say, my Usual tipple is not even real Ale, however after seeing how they keep and treat their beer here I had a few pints of one of the specials, met some lovely people and wobbled home afterwards ! ! Great little pub, homecooked food looks great too although im yet to try it, lovely owners and some lovely resident dogs too !
