About
On 9th May 1848 Parliament passed a private act to allow for common land owned by the church to be awarded to the then Leighton Buzzard Urban District Council “as a place of recreation for the inhabitants of Leighton Buzzard and the neighbourhood”. In 1974 the land transferred ownership from the Urban District Council to the newly formed Parish Council of Leighton-Linslade, who retain ownership today. A dedicated grounds team take pride in managing the park on a daily basis and has overseen the park taking shape to incorporate the many facilities it now has to offer. These include toilet facilities, children’s play area, skate park, youth shelter, multi-use games arena and splash ‘n’ play.

Amazing Park - Free of charge. Five Children - we had a great day. Park is wonderful. Water splash is wonderful, and sand pit is wonderful. And you can grab a coffee or ice cream. What is there not to like.

We had walked around the town centre and after visiting the market stalls we were heading back to the car park when we saw this park.
What an amazing place, especially for children. There is a splash area, a sand pit (the beach!), large play area, bandstand, cafe and loads of green common. There is also a small stream nearby and on Saturday 14th there was a large TV screen playing sports events.
The sun was shining and the park was full of activity.
Lovely space for the community and visitors alike.

First things first... no where could I find the correct postcode for this park, so here it is LU7 1AB. There is plenty of parking around the area, side streets or the main multi story car park behind Waitrose. First visit here today with 2 happy little boys. They spent about an hour in the water park, warmed up then another hour on the play equipment. The beach area looked good too, so bring your buckets and spades. There were free toilets in the middle of the park and an ice cream van, perfect. There is a MUGA area for multi sports and a fair sized skate park area too. There's a great bandstand and posters advertising the next concerts that are on too.

A lovely little splash park for children in a great local park. Usually has an ice cream van and is close to town. Ideal for a picnic on a summers day but expect to see it fill up quickly.
The splash park is a non slip surface like youd find in a park completely enclosed by a fence with a variety of water shoots and fountains which the kids love. If all parents were responsible and kept an eye on their kids this would be an excellent review but unsupervised older children who ran around knocking smaller children over really ruined the splash park.
The main park is huge and has climbing frames, a zip wire and lot's of slides and swings.

why travel to the seaside when you can just go to the local park. Parsons Close is a lovely little Park in the centre of Leighton Buzzard. The Fun Splash park was opened in 2012 and was an instant success with Kids of all ages. Usually opens late may for the summer months and consist of lots of fountains etc. Joining it last year was the Leighton Buzzard Beach, an enclosed area of sand that is also open in the summer.

This area to play and relax is great for children and adults to have fun in the town centre. This summer 2014 the free beach is another great attraction for all the family. There is also a free splash/ water park this is full of fun fountains for everyone to enjoy!

As someone who remembers the dirty cracked concrete kids pool of the old days, this is a great improvement. My grandchildren use it often, and it is a great comfort to the parents to know that it is great fun with water, but with no risk of any accidents.

I will tell you all the good things first and then my reason for the SPOILT review title. We took our two lovely Grandchildren to the park for the first time on Wednesday 24th of August at 4 o/c they had the most fantastic time in the splash park, it was packed with children and adults all enjoying themselves. Plenty of room for blankets to sit in the shade under the trees or a umbrella to sit close to the play area to watch the children which we did. There is a skate park which we thought we would visit next time and bring the boys scooters. There is a beach that we would visit another time. A well equipped park. Ice cream van and toilets. The boys decided that they would like fish and chips in the park, this is where it all went horrible and i must worn families. My husband went off to get the fish and chips and i was watching the children playing in the park when a boy decided to punch our Grandson on the nose which coursed a nose blood and bit the other Grandson on the leg. I could not believe what i was seeing and quickly called them away from these unsavory children. It SPOILT our day which up until that point had been a perfect day with them. Has anyone else experienced this behaviour? It has certainly put us off returning which is such a shame as we thought we had found a wonderful place to bring the Grandchildren. Also the mess left in the park was a disgrace i know the bins were full but take it home and do not let a lovely park get ruined.

Is there anywhere to park close to here for disabled drivers

For those wishing to drive there is a car park located in Duncombe Drive postcode LU7 1SD which has a pedestrian path leading to the park.
This is heavily used for the town centre as well as the park itself and is chargeable.
There are a number of other close pay and display parking nearby at the Multi-storey (West Street) postcode LU7 1DD and Hockliffe Street LU7 1HJ
Please avoid parking in busy residential roads near the park.

Does the splash park get too busy during term time sunny days? I have a 3 year old and 6 month baby and was hoping to visit tomorrow but don’t know the area well so am worried there will be no parking at the park

It is normally quite nice during term time. However, it can get busy during half-term and the summer holidays.
