Beautiful place - Ven day trip with bike rental and riding
Jul 2019
We took the early morning ferry from Landskrona and spent a day on Ven. We hired bikes (book them before you arrive) and spent the day cycling around the island - following well maintained tracks and roads - bikes seem to be the main mode of transport on Ven. We followed the map and did a loop of the whole island, taking in beautiful views, the church, the harbour and a couple of beaches too. Then back to return the bikes and take the evening ferry home. A really good day. Great to ride bicycles as a family and it was great that they had a range of different types of bicycle to hire. Loved Ven, we'll be back!

Excellent for biking and bathing
Jul 2019 • Couples
The island is just lovely and small enough that you can go around on a bike without problem.

There are multiple beaches and places to bath, most of them with sand and a bit of rocks as you enter the water.

You also don't want to miss the Tacho Brahe Museum!
There were plenty of places to park the bikes, plenty of public (free) bathrooms, coffee places/restaurants, small artisanal shops, etc. There's even lamas!

It's quite perfect for a day outing, though you can also rent a room/cottage in a few places if you want to stay. It takes about 30-40 minutes by ferry to get to it from Landskrona.

Day boat package tour from Copenhagen: Excellent logistics for a family with vegetarian children and bike rental
Aug 2019 • Family
Prebooking via "visithven" , leading to the Spar Shipping package "Tychos Hven". This tour will cost you like a cheap plane ticket, per person. What will you get, if booking 48 hours in avance (=you know it will be sunny) ?
On the boat the breakfast will be ready with a name tag. The vegetarian option was w/o ham. (yoghurt w. Serving of muesli, slice of whole grain bread, White roll, Jam, Butter, Coffee and cheese) .
Standard bike rental or you own bike on the boat (we had two of each, the rental station has 500 bikes of various types and a few Electric golf buggies for hire)
A map with timing for different cycle routes (we made a 5 km detour before the lunch)
Lunch at Spirit of Hven ( the kitchen had made two servings of vegetarian spring rolls on Risotto, Nice!). There was a small buffet (approx. 30 had preordered).
After 1 km cycling: Entrance to the Tycho Brahe museum, which has a medieval playground too (see Gerlev Legecenter in Denmark for a full selection) The 8 min video + light guidance in the star observatory is not for disabled, nor for those suffering from claustrophobia. We finished the day with a ride to the northern vantage point and then back to the rental station and an ice cream in the harbour.
On the boat we had our food ready (ordered in the morning). For the Kids a cheese sandwich includes water melon and a slice of orange (DKK 23). A prawn or salmon sandwich comes with approximately 100 g of this filler. And the decorative cucumber was definitely sliced on the same day (see my comments on a chain of cafes in Copenhagen).

Exclusive of bike rental: Expect 6,5 good hours on Ven. If you bring your own bike, add and extra 15 min of time as an active tourist.

The public toilets on the island have nappy changing facilities.

Perfect day of biking
Jul 2019 • Couples
Most people do this as a day trip, but we spent two nights here as well, which was great because we enjoyed a leisurely dinner on the water, saw the sunset, and got in an hour or two of biking before the day trippers showed up. But however you do it, make sure the weather is nice, and plan to bike. It took us about six hours to cover the entire island, including many stops along the way (you probably could do it in 2 hours with no stops).

A small island between Sweden and Denmark
Jun 2019 • Couples
It's a good for a day trip with bike. There's Tycho Brahe museum to visit, difficult to miss and have a picnic during in the harbor. Also, don't miss the sunset!

Bikehike!
Jun 2019 • Couples
Bring your own bike or rent at location. Take your time, go slow and try to explore every and each one of the narrow paths crisscrossing the island. Spectaculare wiews, photogenic all around from willows to steap edges at seaside. Make sure you know where to have breakfast. Foodplaces tend to open att 11.

Great Island to explore by bike. Great beaches, nature, history. Definitely a great day trip! Try to book the bikes in advance to avoid queueing up.

A small scenic island in between Sweden and Denmark. Very enjoyable for a day trip. Rent a bike, and enjoy if weather is good.

The island in the middle of Öresund
Sep 2017 • Family
This is a top attraction! You take the boat from Landskrona (Öresunds Diamant - The Diamond of Öresund). There is a lot to do. The best way to get around the island is by bicycle - you can rent them when you get there. There is also bus and taxi. Visit the museum of Tycho Brahe, buy things from the small art stores around the island, eat home made icecream, herring, drink whisky from the distillery or eat in one of the many restaurants. A coffee shop in the boat village of Bäckviken. Visit the old church and look at the view at Backafall. There is also a camping, beach, hotel and a general store.

The epitome of a perfect day-trip
Aug 2018 • Family
Of course, the weather must help, too. However, Ven has all the right features for a perfect day out, immersed in beautiful countryside and free to choose whatever means of transportation suits you, ideally a bicycle or your feet (stay away from the useless golf-carts), as both are equally suitable to take you everywhere on the island.
Whether you then choose to take the historical tour and visit the Tycho Brahe museum or St. Ibb's church, or prefer a more mundane visit to the Hven whisky distillery, it is entirely up to you and you will certainly be equally satisfied.
