Once a formal garden built for Peter the Great, this popular park still has more than 80 of the original marble statues and sculptures and houses Peter's Summer Palace, a simply designed two-story building that now displays many of the ruler's own artifacts.

Very grand indeed

Superb initial rooms but take time to enjoy the gardens as they are very tranquil when you leave the main walks near the canal.

It's an amazing place. The grandeur of the fountains are simply amazing. The technology of the water coming out of the fountain without any pumps is astonishing. The gardens, the marble statues and the amount of gold they have used to cover the things there is a must see. If you are staying in the city centre it's more than... More

We took the first hydrofoil and reached just in time for the fountain show at 11am. There were already a crowd there so I could get the best view, but it's still breathtaking. We then wondered around the grounds without much fun till we reach the trick fountains and were awestruck and forgot the time to leave. The food trucks... More

I was amazed and appalled by the amount of gold the families of the czar. People on the outside were poor, very poor and the family had everything you could imagine, even a beautiful wood burning furnace from Norway. I understand why the poor rebelled. It has beautiful landscaping. A place you have to see.

The rooms are certainly amazingly decorated - not a relaxing environment in which to live but making a definite statement. The quality of the workmanship is outstanding. It was a little difficult to see everything as we were not part of an organised group and there were plenty of these doing the rounds. Also the room descriptions given in English... More

I've been over much of the world and very few places were as impressive as the Grand Palace of Peterhof. The Czar built quite and impressive compound for himself and I guess all the resources went into this instead of the starving peasants populating the region. No wonder there was a revolution. Still 100 years later it makes a great... More

Fascinating, and wonderful.............crowded with other tour groups but still amazing experience. Make sure you look down as well as up as the floors are mind-blowing with the intricately worked wood and detail and variety of designs. Would have loved to have longer to browse in each area............this was possible in the grounds which were also beautiful and with wonderful views... More

At this venue (Alla Tours) we were only able to visit the gardens briefly....but WOW.! It wet the appetite enough that I for sure want to go back and meander those gardens and visit the palace. It was surely spectacular on the outside and very interesting history.
