This is the island Tito had for his non-believers. He attempted to have them converted to his thoughts by having them punish each other. The place is falling down and it is a shame that the Croatian government is ignoring the whole situation. It is...More

It has one restaurant with fresh, great seafood, very nice interior, one shop with juices, water, ciggaretes. Theatre where you can learn all about the past of this island, turist train which takes you on tour. But the best is to go by foot and see all ex-prison buildings and remains.

We loved this place. Where else are you left alone to explore an ex-prison island? The scale of this place is huge. We missed the standard ferry to get us to goli otok and hired a water taxi instead which cost us an extra £1!...More

This place is amazing. I can't think of many places in the western work where you can wonder round an ex-prison that is falling apart. The sheer scale of the place, and the sense of what horrors must have gone on make it utterly fascinating...More
