Great value for money. Picked up at our accomodation, driven to lake Manapouri. 1 hour boat trip across the lake and then 1 hour in a coach to get to Doubtful Sound. We thought the scenery was amazing so far. Then we board the Patea Explorer and cruise Doubtful Sound. What an amazing part of the world. The service, staff... More

Although we had bad weather (so cloudy we could hardly see the coast and the boat could not get us to the Tasman sea) the trip it selves is worth the day. The first boat will bring you to the pass which you have to cross by bus and another boat is waiting for you again. Our lady bus driver... More

I was there as part of a NG tour...it was part of the very expensive and not worth it tour of Australia and N.Z. We took the bus to the cruise ship and we embarked in a lovely and peaceful and inspiring one day adventure of a place I wish to return to some day. This is listed as Unesco... More

We spend the night on the Fiordland Navigator with group. There were 65 of us (including 40 kids). The friendly professionalism of Captain Dave and his staff was just amazing. I cant say enough about the staff. They were such as large part of the experience and they are so multi talented. Frank the Chef (great meals) was also responsible... More

Whilst the tourist brochures capture the sunlight and sparkles, a cloudy wet day is what you are likely to experience. The guide reminded us that incessant rain is precisely what keep the rainforest alive and green. My friends had warned me in advance to take my raincoat. Glad we packed both waterproof pants and coat so that we could get... More

We spent one night on the boat sailing up to sound to the open ocean where we saw the seals basking and playing on their rock island. On the morning back to the dock we had the most amazing rain storm which fill the waterfalls that were much smaller the day before. It had also rained overnight. The crew were... More

I have never been on the Milford Sound so can't compare the too. I was pleasantly pleased by the boat, staff and of course views. We had light rains both days but still the views were spectacular. Once out, you have options to some water sports or just sit back and enjoy. I felt guilty not kayaking but once I... More

(Please note that I experience this as an overnight cruise in Feb 2014, but the magic still lives within me.) While I was researching heavily about cruises to the famous Milford Sound, I came across this cruise to Doubtful after reading how busy and popularly crowded Milford gets. I was extremely intrigued by the overnight cruise that Deep Cove offered.... More

For everyone who is or have gone to MILFORD SOUND, you really have missed the big show. DOUBTFUL SOUND is so much MORE!! Its more of everything. I can say this because I have done both. Its not great to compare, but the cruise is longer and you see so much more. So much more. And don't be afraid to... More

What a magical experience this was into the other world that is Doubtful Sound. We were astonished to have dry, clear weather for our trip on the Southern Secret with skipper Clint and crew Tresna. Both did a fantastic job of making sure our experience was as good as it could be - we saw dolphins and penguins, caught Blue... More
