This is an awesome trip! Dianne is fantastic handling everything from the booking through to the day starting and making sure you're organised and on the ferry across lake manapouri. Once across the lake you're met by Chris, again, super nice and down to earth he makes sure along with Travis that you're well looked after throughout the entire time.... More

Had planned to do Milford Sound but the road had been closed by snow each morning and due to our time in the area decided to do the Doubtful Sound Cruise. Booked thru Go Orange in town the day before, given our info and met the cruise the next morning. Our luck it was a cold wet day but that... More

Wonderful day - ferry from Manapouri to West Arm - bus over the Wilmot Pass with a couple of stops to see Doubtful Sound far below - catamaran for three hours in the sound itself, which is beyond isolated. The scenery is stunning. It's not the easiest place to get to but totally worth it. Literally saw a couple of... More

Doubtful sound is much easier to get to from Te Anau than some guide books suggest. Real Journeys operate a twice daily service which includes the lake crossing, coach trip and cruiser on Doubtful Sound. You can book at the office in Manapouri. Both boats were modern and designed to carry a hundred plus passengers. A packed lunch is provided... More

Doubtful Sound is far away from everything - getting there is not that easy. First there is a bus ride to Lake Manapouri. Then there is an hour ferry ride. This is followed by a bus ride on New Zealand's most expensive road; equipment to build the roads, the busses, everything had to be brought in via helicopter or via... More

So here's the deal, i like to give both sides but I'm not getting these reviews, lets start with the sound is beautiful, world class, better than Norway -- the real journeys boat is clean and staff is great, thats where the experience ends. This is a giant production style cruise and probably perfect if your about 75+ -- if... More

Upon arriving in Fiordland we were spoilt for choice on which cruise to do, but we knew we definitely wanted to do one. We almost booked on the 72 passenger trip with Real Journeys but soon released for a little bit extra we could go on a boat of maximum 12 people and have a much more personal experience. The... You cannot visit the South Island without a day trip into Doubtful Sound.....it is so impressive. Orange might not be the most expensive, but certainly the best value for money. The early morning trip is by far the best option. One of the advantages is that the Orange boat is not too big and therefore it is not overcrowded like... More

We were lucky to have a calm crossing over Lake Manapouri and whilst in Doubtful Sound which made for a great trip. There were sightings of penguins and sea lions, as well as the spectacular scenery.

We did the overnight cruise with Real Journeys. This would be one of the best things I've ever done! A catamaran took us over Lake Manapouri to an awaiting bus to drive us over the mountains to the 3 masted ship for our night. The cruise was so relaxing & even though it was raining we could still access the... More
