Thoroughly enjoyed this overnight cruise on Doubtful Sound in spite of cold rain and wind. The bus and boat trips to reach the Sound were enjoyable: Our bus driver on route and on the return entertained us with running commentary, very amusing. We saw many...More

We did the day cruise of Doubtful Sound and were really disappointed. Half the boat was one tour bus of a group traveling together. Unfortunately this group overtook the ship with their selfie sticks and unrelenting selfie/photo taking. The entire outside area was chaos and...More

This was the most awe-inspiring experience of our 2 week South Island holiday. We decided to splurge on the 'Real Journeys' Doubtful Sounds Overnight Cruise on the 'Fiordland Navigator' on the advice of some friends and were extremely glad that we did. Talk about 'getting...More

We took the Doubtful Sound overnight cruise on the "Navigator" and it was spectacular. Of course, lots depends on the weather. The first day the clouds were low and the fjord was a rather monochromatic combination of grays and greens. To be frank, it was...More

I also did the Milford Sound cruise, and I enjoyed Milford much more than Doubtful. Being smaller, I found the views on Milford more dramatic. There was also more wildlife in Milford (but I might just have been unlucky on that day on Doubtful Sound)....More

This was my first fjord experience and Real Journeys made it worthwhile. Getting to Doubtful Sound can be quite a hassle but RJ made sure that everything was well organised. The guides (lake boat guide, bus / nature guide and cruise guides) have in-depth knowledge...More

This was the high point and if you like spiritual heart of our recent trip to NZ. We were lucky with the weather - in fact I got a little burnt. The views were breathtaking. The water was calm, and we got to kayak. We...More

We joined the Doubtful Sound Overnight Cruise on the 10-11/10 at the spur of the moment having not had it added to our month long itinerary. We cannot speak highly enough of this cruise, excellent and brilliant! I can't fault Real Journeys and their professionalism,...More

I am full of praise for this journey of a lifetime I shared with 32 like minded New Zealanders. A very special part of NZ historically and conservation wise and added to that is the sheer beauty. The staff treated us royally. Food delicious. Talks...More

Had an overnight cruise on Doubtful Sound. This experience is not for everyone. It requires some patience as you will travel on one vessel across a body of water before boarding a bus over a mountain pass, ultimately boarding the overnight vessel and back again...More

I think so but ask Real Journeys. They'd have people with wheelchairs often, & they're helpful people.
