Beautiful beach and clear blue sea, but the beach is never cleaned, always dirty full of algae, cigarette buts, bottles and food waste.
It is such a shame because San Pietro could be a beautiful little seaside resort, in the town itself there is not much to do, lots of fast food takeaways and mini markets.
It needs to be brought up to scratch, a few good restaurants, wine bars and the most imporant a few beach bars.
The council need to keep the beach clean.

reaching a seashore in winter time could seem a sad or crazy trip. absolutely wrong! above all when you go into a place always crowded during all the summertimes, walking on the shores and shore hills, searching strange flowers or messages in bottles it's absolutely amazing in winter. The clouds at the horizon often have the same colours of the sea, and everything seems to be so peaceful and wild.
You don't need anything else than a camera and a mind, to enjoy silent walks in this still few known piece of my gorgeus Puglia!

What a pig sty, actually that is an insult to pigs. We had read some reviews and saw some comments about garbage but thought it couldn't be that bad. Well, it is. We then drove along the sea side thinking maybe it was just that one spot, it wasn't. It was so depressing... Maybe they clean the beaches for the summer rush but seriously...nets, beer bottles, plastic bottles, diapers, old shoes, broken tricycle, broken chairs, plastic detritus and a dead tortoise to finish of the carnage... juxtaposed with the beauty of the sea it was heart wrenching. The other side of the peninsula was much better (the nice photo I added was baia dei turchi, clean and quiet didn't make you feel guilty to be a human)!

My Family’s roots are here. It’s so sad to see the garbage all over, the post war atmosphere mostly everywhere.
Look like the locals like the trash scenario.
And they’re doing very well....
How’s that possible?
It will be a real top place.
Few said, it’s like that because Manduria has no major...
Has been always like that.
Sorta di muccati.

Sandy beaches in Puglia can be hard to find but this has a long stretch of sand with reasonable depth to sit on and shallow water.
The beach is reasonable clean (unlike most that we saw) but the houses and businesses in the area are shabby and very uninviting.
We were there in mid October and plenty warm enough for sunbathing and swimming but everything was closed, shuttered, dead.....could not find anywhere to even get a coffee...

Visited a couple of times recently. Nice beach and no rocks when you get into the sea like many places here.
Gets deeper as you go out then becomes more shallow and you can stand quite easily.
Certainly my beach of choice in this part.
Not overcrowded on either visit.

This is a great beach for kids of all ages. The beach is sandy and the water is shallow for many meters. The surf was very calm.

It was a very nice beach and family oriented. On the day we went it wasn’t as calm as I wanted. but . beautiful nonetheless.

Lungo la zona del ristorante "Le Capannine" dovrebbe trovarsi la spiaggia esclusivamente sabbiosa e bassa.
