Unique in China regarding the importance of Kuomintang and foreign troups
May 2016 • Couples
The museum is impressive, a lot of uniforms, weapons, daily life objects, letters, photos, etc. are on display.
Explanations in both Chinese and English help to understand the WW2 in this part of the world.
We were told that due to the fact a large part of Tengching population was part of Kuomintang during the war, the local government was authorized by Beijing to open the museum in 2013.

Interesting WWII exhibit
Jun 2014 • Business
The museum and park are both very interesting to see and get a perspective one might not have of WWII from outside of China. The old photos and museum collections are really well done and displayed in a very easy to visit style.

Flying Tigers Memorial
Apr 2012 • Friends
This is a sensitively handled memorial to the many Chinese who lost their lives defending not only their city but the whole nation with the aid of a small group of Americans, affectionately dubbed 'The Flying Tigers".
They consisted of aircrewmen and ground support crews under the leadership of US Generals Chenault and Stillwell. A memorial the the gGenerals and 19 of these 'fly boys' can be found at the base of the hill where the 'fallen' Chinese are buried.

Decent place to spend an hour or two
Apr 2011
With Tengchong's history at the border of the Japanese invasion from Burma one would be surprised if there WASN'T a museum like this around. It's all pretty nice and interesting but it's not very big so don't plan on spending more than an hour or so. It is of course full of nationalistic and anti-Japanese blah blah but that's something you get used to quickly in China. Recommendable.
