If you are in Namche, you must try to take a trip to the Sherpa Museum. It's a very short hike from the town, but it's worth it - You will not only get to see a slice of Sherpa culture, but will also get to see some great moments in stories from the Everest region. Lakhpa Soman ji is an amazing photographer and if you are lucky you might get to meet him.

This museum is full of sherpa culture. This is a good place for all trekkers to go as it informs all us trekkers of the sherpa culture and how it has changed over the years. They take alot of pride in the sherpas that have summited Everest and each one has there picture on the 'hall of fame'.

I visited the museum twice while in Namche. The museum details the natural history of the region, as well as the history of the indigenous people. The displays offer clear English explanations and are well thought out. There are also some historical items on display that provide a glimpse into the Sherpa home life.
Not to be missed is the view from outside the museum. The Everest Panorama fills the horizon and there is statue of Tenzing Norgay. Don't miss the small monument that contains two stones from the Dead Sea in Israel to mark the lowest and highest points on the planet.

There was an interesting monument for one of the sherpa's and the museum was a good break from the wind. It is in a remote place so I was surprised to see a museum.

most men are occupied in the trekking, hiking, climbing trade so the family lives in the villages while the men are out and about for most of the year......

A gem of a place stuck high above Namche. Relive some of the adventures and experience life as a Sherpa. Tough conditions, little romance, but heroic tales, nevertheless. Take in the wonderful memorial to Tenzing Norgay with Everest looming behind. Magic.

Very interesting photos about Sherpas, some kind of Sherpa living rooms in the museum, accessories and a photo show. Also loads of great photos you can buy

A must go destination. The same ground where Tenjing Norgay organised his group for the everest expedition. Also lots of things about sherpa culture . A little up from there and there is a great everest viewpoint.

The Sherpa Culture Museum is a large traditional Sherpa house complete with all the kitchen and farm implements and a brightly decorated prayer room. In the lower floor of the hotel next door there is also two large photo exhibition rooms showing Sherpa culture and the Sherpa heroes of Everest along with countless newspaper clippings about Everest expeditions.

Absolutely loved the Sherpa museum which you can jointly visit with the Everest documentation center. The museum in itself is small but interesting, the pictures room that describe Sherpas life over the years is facinating as much as the 3rd room which contain lots of sherpas summiters photos and articles about Everest!
