Me and my husband did a five day independent bike trip in the part of Sweden called Roslagen. Hannele Glad had put together an all inclusive bike tour, in which meals, bikes, maps and transportation of luggage were included. We loved the countryside, sometimes small winding roads through pastures with cows, old barns, woods and not very hilly, the town of Norrtälje, one of our destinations, is a very charming old town, with wooden houses, a river floating through the town, flowers everywhere, and beautiful parks to explore. The accommodations were very varied from charming Bed and Breakfast, hostel, to spa hotel. The mixture of places to stay was interesting, and we particularly enjoyed our first Bed and Breqkfast experience in Bergshamra. A very thoughtful, kind and lovely couple hosted this place, and we were invited to a concert in an old church building. A trio of great musicians played Swedish folk music. It was one of the high lites of the trip. Our last Bed and Breakfast in Söderbykarl, was a disappointment and should probably be taken out of the package. The dinner meal at this place was meager, and we found a lack of hospitality that we hadn’t felt anywhere else. The B&B is located far away from any stores so we could not buy anything to add to our meal the last evening. Our other suggestions are better bicycles. The 3 speed, heavy bicycles made even the slightest hills a bit of a challenge. We were given very nice bike maps. However, written directions would have been helpful. Out first host gave us a copy of his directions to follow for the first day which were great and included hints like, “ turn left at the 3 mailboxes...” etc. Summary Better bikes, Written directions with the maps Different Bed and Breakfast on the last day. We still had a great time, and were blessed with good weather all five days.

We came from Belgium to Stockholm, especially for the marriage of a friend living in Sollentuna. Hannele Gladh from Resgladh was willing to organise a hiking tour with luggage transport in Roslagen. We walked about 80 km, in 3 days, from Nörrtalje to Grisslehamn, via Söderby-Karl and Nyby, along the Roslagslede. It was a nice and pleasant walk throug fields, forests, nature reserves and along the baltic shore. The last day, from Nyby to Grisslehamn, was a tough but beautiful one ! More than once, we had the feeling to be alone in the world during these days. We slept in a youth hostel, private cottages and a pension. Everything was beautiful, clean and okay. All people were very nice and gave us tasteful lunch packages. Thanks Hannele, for organising this trip; we enjoyed it very much.
