This is a very cool spot if you think about it. The fresh water is way down there under the earth and coming up here, to form a lake. A lake! It is imposing to see the shallow water and the rocks and plants and then suddenly it drops into blackness!

Best seen from a kayak; we used one from Hotel Carolina (the place to stay) just a few properties away and paddled over very early on glass like water.

We kayaked from our excellent hotel, Hotel Carolina, around the corner to this cenote. We watched as the shallow teal blue waters left us and we were floating over the deep forest green cenote. It was surreal. I recommend kayaking to this cenote vs a boat tour. Cool and swimmable but no ledges or roles to hang on to. Wear life jackets if not confident.

I’m not a great swimmer and the water felt great I was just little scared because you can’t see down. Of course you know that when you get into the water. Still very pretty area.

It is whole in the lake closed to the shore. By boat you see the bottom with its green color and suddenly a deep blue color with no bottom to be seen

It is a small place where it is better to visit through a tour because you get to see all of the edge of the cenote by accesing through the lagoon.

Sometimes there is an entrance where they charge but the dock is very, very, veeeery small and not safe (nails were popping).
