It´s a big museum and worth to visit when visiting Kretinga in Lithuania.
There are many exhibits but it is mainly catering to Lithuanian tourists. English-speaking visitors may consider getting a guide otherwise it won´t be a fruitful museum visit.

A palace of the once rich and famous aristocracy of Lithuania; the encapsulating glass Orangery provides for a mini rain forest – amazing!

Whilst the building is a popular venue for weddings, with its own private Civil Wedding Licence, it also offers restaurant facilities surrounding an almost tropical encrusted rock-face rain forest – this can only be described as the largest Orangery I have ever seen!

Besides the natural Orangery/Rain Forest features, the building is steeped in ancient aristocratic history of the rich and famous belonging to the same family for centuries.

Any Trip Advisor visiting the area in Lithuania close to the Baltic coast this has to be at the top of your list for at least one day out, enjoying either afternoon tea or a meal whilst visiting the Orangery and the grounds.

Good experience for local tourists.Nice surroundings and park.would not recommend it for kids as they will find it boring. Botanical garden not to impressive for these days as most of the plants are considered home plants these days and can be found in most households. Good value for money.

The museum holds a large collection of archaeologic findings which tell us about the prehistoric times, treasures of silver coins of the XV-XIII century, the tools of farmers and handicraftsmen belonging to the XVIII-XX centuries, inventory, household, articles and furniture, the collection of Shrovetide masks. Especially decorative are tools for spinning, towel holders, chests and dressers, textile articles.

We didn't visit the museum itself but walked in the park which is very beautiful. Yet, the soviet era remainings such as an apartment building inside the park destroy the picture.
