Thank you so much for the excellent review. We are very proud to have achieved four VisitEngland Hidden Gem awards. Testament not only to the quality of the story telling and displays but also and very importantly the warm welcome and helpful staff within the Museum. Rest assured we will continue to strive to improve the visitor experience in any way we can, and hope to see you again in the future.

Visited for third time with different grandchild and all three have enjoyed the whole experience. The pumpkin trail, poppy making and Lego were well organised and enjoyed by all of us. The staff are knowledgeable, helpful and patient
A bonus is the Crown Cafe where the food is freshly made and very reasonable priced..

We had the best day out at the REME museum today. Two adults, 4 kids (ages 5-12) and all of us had such fun. Staff were so friendly, the museum itself was fascinating and engaging for everyone. The assault course caused much enjoyment and laughter as my husband (ex army) had a go and then the soldiers helping out tried to beat his time (which of course they did!!)!!
The cafe was great and catered for us all, even having 3 different vegan options for me which was an unexpected novelty.
I would highly recommend a day out here! Thanks so much and we will be back!

Thank you for the fantastic review and comments. We are so pleased to hear you and your family had a great day out and delighted to hear you plan to revisit. The soldiers who help us out will of course let the children win, but a challenge from an ex serving member was always going to be something they would up for. Great to hear the friendly military rivalry is alive and well. We look forward to welcoming you all back.

An inspiring visit as part of a group of 15, shown around by the director. Fascinating for those interested in military history. Full of personal detail. Describing the life of the Corps of army engineers who operate around the world supporting the fighting units.

I took my missus here so that she could get a better idea of what it is I do for work. Let’s just say she came out much more informed of the Corps, and enjoyed all the exhibits. Some great hands on exhibits for the kids and a fantastic collection of weapon systems to be a nerd about (I am an armourer :) overall a great trip and it only took an hour and half to get round. Brilliant 👍🏽

What a great museum. As an ex serviceman myself, I really appreciated the time and effort that must have gone in to make the museum so interesting and informative. Warmly welcomed at the entrance and not too busy inside at the time of my visit to make things feel covid comfortable. The exhibits were very well presented and if truth be told, I should have gone round a second time. I should also mention the cafe. A really nice, decent cup of coffee actually persuaded me to return the following morning with friends and family for a breakfast.

We had a great time today at the museum. It’s very well organised and fun for all the family. The amount of exhibits there will keep you all entertained we did it all in approx 3hrs.
The family activity for the day was fantastic rocket making and then blasting them outside.
The play area was very good for all ages and the cafe was reasonable and good quality food.

Great day out overall will be returning!

Lovely welcoming and friendly staff greeted us on arrival and entry was timed so that we had lots of space to move through the museum without contact with others.
Really interesting exhibits - we loved the REME birth certificate and the video of the engineer stripping down a gun and putting it back together again - brilliant!
Great cafe with lots of choice and a nice outside seating area.
A great place to spend a morning or afternoon.

I visited with my 6-year old and we spent an enjoyable 3-4 hours here looking around the exhibits, and had a nice lunch in the cafe. The staff couldn't have been any more helpful and friendly, and the extra summer activities for the kids were appreciated. There's something here for all ages, and it tells the story of REME in an engaging way, with well chosen exhibits ranging from small memorabilia through uniforms, small arms, armoured vehicles and helicopters. Very much recommended.
