When you're in this region one must do is a trip down the river in a canoe. Pick a nice sunny day and bring food and drinks for a picknick. The rental location is just at the bridge in Saint-Antonin. We were welcomed and received clear instructions from a VERY friendly lady, native English. The trip takes about 2,5 hours downstream and is relaxing with a few very small thrills just to make it interesting for the young ones. Plenty of opportunities to pull your canoe ashore on small beaches to relax and enjoy lunch. And there's a big rock for kids and dads to jump off! No time pressure for the return pickup.

We thought we were too late in the season but found that there were still some operators working. We chose L'eau de canard because it was close to where we were staying. Glad we did as we had a very enjoyable day out albeit a bit wet :) The river has some parts which need you to steer carefully if you don't want to push the boat. This is because it is quite shallow in parts and we thought it was good fun, although you do need a bit of strength if you don't want to get out of the boat and push. We are 50 somethings and certainly not super fit so it wasn't too hard. The staff were very friendly and were on time to meet us at the meeting point at our .mutually pre arranged time. We also thought the price was very reasonable for the experience.

Booked this activity whilst staying in nearby Septfonds. On the day we were due to take part, it was cancelled due to heavy rainfall the previous night. However, staff were very apologetic and we accepted it was due to safety reasons. None of the other providers were open. Lady was very helpful and gave us advice re other places we could visit locally whilst we were in town. Returned as scheduled the following Tuesday where the river was open. Had a fun 4 hours on the river, stopping at one of the cafés for lunch and for a swim in the river. Would recommend to families.
