We visited the Wildkogel in the summer with our children, 10 and 12.
This was the second summer we came here and took the Wildkogel lift.
At the very top there is a nice ball track. For two euros you can buy a wooden ball, with which the children can play on the ball track.
And a nice restaurant to eat/drink something.
On the way back it is nice to get off at the middle station. From here you can take a walk down a Rutschenweg with 10 slides. You can rent a mat for €3 for the slides.
The slides are classified according to challenge; blue, red and black.
This walk takes approximately 1.5 hours. Depending on the crowds at the slides.
From the point where you arrive you can continue the walk to the valley (an hour's walk). There may also be taxis that will take you down. We were prepared for this and had parked our car at this restaurant.
A very fun activity to do with children!

First time in Austria and we were impressed by the beauty of this place. Not just the offer of services exceeded our expectations, but the attention to detail, the efficiency, the beauty of the nature that surrounded us left us speechless. The gondola was free with our hotel pass, we had a beautiful walk by the lake to end up for lunch at the Wildkogelhaus. This place was stunning, you can’t miss it if you go there. I would go back without hesitation

Pretty resort with over 75Km of runs, all the runs are close by so no need for long travels, all withing walking distance. Ski lifts might not be the fastest but an extra few seconds /min doesn't matter when u have good runs. Its good to beginner to intermediate.
You have other activities like ski tubing and sledging. There is also a pretty lake Blausee lake 10min drive adjacent is a good restaurant with beautiful views.

Easily one of the best outdoor activities I have ever done! I have never skied or done any winter sports, but sledding is really easy to pick up quickly.
I rented a sled and helmet from Intersport (which is right at the base of the lift). The ticket was 32 euros for a day ticket (including the lift up), and we did 4 runs at about 40 minutes each, so it was great value!
There is a restaurant at the top and halfway down, where you can stop and eat - the gulaschsuppe halfway down was only 6 euros and was really filling and delicious.
My legs got pretty battered and wet, even through ski trousers, so definitely wear a couple of layers, and good waterproof & solid boots.
I'd recommend sledding here to anyone!

By far the best thing to do around bramberg. The mountain carts are great fun! The lift is a bit expensive (but if you like the exercise, there is a beautiful hike to the top that takes about 3 hours) but nothing beats racing downhill. Using the brakes to drift every corner, it is hard to only race down once!

The 14km sled run was fantastic. Take the Smargdbahn lift from Bramberg and it is course 14A at the top of the lift. It is €13 for adults per run or €32 per day; kids are €6.50 per run or €16 per day.
At the bottom before the lift there are several shops where you can rent a toboggan and helmets.
I was initially concerned about how safe it was as I was sledding with a child, but for most of run it is long and winding. There are some spots where it gets quite fast especially towards the end but safety was never an issue.
There is bar a little over halfway down that was fun. Would recommend ski goggles as you do a lot of braking with your boots which sprays snow up. Kids probably need to be at least 8 before I’d feel comfortable letting them go alone on a sled. We did two runs with a six year old and that was plenty. It is a workout for hips and back. The run takes about 45 mins depending on stops.

Me and my son were at this resort in February 2020 to take a ski course. the resort is not large, it has 85% blue and red slopes, so it is suitable for begginers and average skiers. Also good for learning new skiing styles or to improve skills. We had wonderful sunny weather for three whole days. The slopes were groomed and not too crowded with skiers. The only complaint is the small capacity of the restaurants, at lunchtime they were always full, despite the smaller numbers of people in the area. It would certainly be worthwhile to build at least one more restaurant. Overall, we were very satisfied with skiing on the Widkogel and I would definitely recommend a visit to families with children. We did not try sleigh rides, but according to many people with rented sledges it is very popular and the track should be one of the longest in Austria.

14km toboggan run at Wildkogel was brilliant. 9euro to rent toboggan and 32 euro for all day pass for cable car. You can either take the gondola to the top or come off about half way. The top part of the run are for toboggans only and a bit slow in parts - but good to get used to steering! Then you merge with a blue ski run - which is faster, with hair pin bends and icy in parts - adds to the excitement for sure!

Not family friendly ski resort, bad weather compared to other ski resorts in the area, the ski schools are located at 2100 m altitude, so prepare 22 eur per day extra, if you want to bring your child to ski schools. Smoking everywere inside the restaurants. From 60+ km of slopes, do not consider some 20+ km which are for sledging...overall I recommend Kitzbuhel - 6 min by car or the ski amade area- you'll get more for your money.

Longest Sled Run in the world with spectacular views and lots of fun. Since the building of the Smaragbahn (Sled lift) you start and end in the town of Bramberg. Rental shops and restaurants within walking distance. Lift takes about 20 minutes to the top and then 14 kilometers of smiles. The halfway point has a bar that is a non-stop party. We've returned year after year.
