It's a great place for what it is. RM5 per adult, RM2 per child 7yrs and over. Free for senior citizens.
It's not very well advertised/promoted/marketed which is a shame, as I'm sure it'll attract more visitors.

I was a little disappointed because I expected it to be big - like the one in Langkawi. This one is much smaller but still worth a visit if you like to see fishes and other sea life. Entry fee was only MYR5 (dirt cheap).

As this week is school holidays so we decided to take the grandchildren to the Aquarium.
It took us a while to find the place as it is off the main truck road and also there were roadworks so the direct access was detoured.
This attraction has to one of the cheapest attraction on Penang which is open daily except on Wednesday from 10.00am until 5.00pm, which is run by the Fisheries Research Institute/Institute Penyelidikan Perikanan (FRI Batu Maung) which is located opposite the Penang War Museum’s Junction.
They was a miniature research aquarium at Penang...entrance fee only Rm 5 for adults but for the citizen over 55years will be free....You can travel either by your own car...our public bus to Batu Maung..Inside seem a lot of fisheries..colourful fishs...turtles.....It was another nice place...More
