Great service from Kostas at Crete Bikes. Delivered 3 bikes direct to our villa in Atsipopoulo and picked them up 10 days later when we were done. We hired trekking bikes which were perfect for the Crete B roads and helped us manage our way up the plentiful climbs. You really need those extra gears!
Found some great routes in the area including a great cycle over to Kournas Lake and back.
Highly recommend Kostas and his team.

About the service:
The service provided by the team was phenomenal! Extremely helpful buth in person and via email, any questions or concerns were met with professional and personal service. The bikes were fine to be delivered and collected (from over an hour away!) without myself being present. On the collection day I encountered the collection team and they were very friendly and were already removing my pedals and placing them to one side.
About the bikes:
I have never had a bike as nice as the Scott Speedster! I have a nice road bike at home but you can really tell that team have a great servicing department, clean, very smooth and very fast!
Cycling in Greece:
It's INSANELY HOT!! Very hilly and not much shade. If you do plan to rent bikes be humble and plan short trips. I'm Australian and have never sweat so much in my life as I did on the bike here. But I would not have changed a thing, we experienced things we could never have without the bikes.
Thanks team! I hope to come back one day to Crete and when I do I'll be renting from you again (and I be more prepared for the heat!)

Fantastic arrangement! Definitely worth a day spending! Not too expensive either. The crew were great (Greg the english (irish) guy, Stratos - the guy you blame, Nico - the exeptional driver and the half greek and belgium guy who knows it all (; great fun, great day! We would do it all over, the best excursion so far! Professional team! Love from Norway <3

We had a great day out with Greg, Jason, Sterios and Myros. Arkadi monastery is fascinating (worth a few more minutes?), pottery demonstration instructive and not overdone, great barbecue, melidone cave impressive and touching, final swim delicious. Well organised, decent bikes, and a good laugh - and we saw eagles or vultures depending who you believe! Took great care of Grandad who didn't ride and one of our group who fell off. There are a couple of uphill bits which demand a basic level of fitness in the heat, but overall a great way to see some of the sights.

What a perfect day with loads of nice people! Loads of different stops, and no stress at all the whole day. The irish guy makes a good bbq for everyone aswell! I would recommend this trip for everyone! And the best of all, its cheap....(I would say) to cheap! And for those who like animals,you can stop at Gregs house (the irish guy). He has like a million dogs and cats!

I enjoyed this bike trip very much, it was well planned despite some things going wrong (BBQs issues, ran out of gas etc), solutions came quickly and we were well taken care of (plenty of water, fresh fruit, lovely coffee and excellent food, bathroom stops), the places we visited were simply breathtaking and all quite different! We could opt for a car ride at any time if we had enough, but the ride was not difficult at all. Extra expenses were well explained before hand. Great hosts, plenty of laughs! Nice cold beer at an amazing beach at the end. Well worth it!

If you want a bike tour i rather recommend that you rent one here and go by yourself. Most of the time on the bike involves braking since its downhill. The guys and booking is really great, and the lunch and stop in kourna and georgioupolis was great. But the Springs and coffee stop was very boring, i would love more time on the bike instead. You dont need to be in shape for this tour. Good bikes and great service so next time i will rent and go on my own.

Thanks for your review. You are happy with the bikes and the staff. The tour itsself is precisely described in the web site where you booked with us. I think that we do not deserve this review for the charakteristics that you have as a charakter not to like some points that wehre clearly stated from the beginning. I totally understand what you mean that you did not like some points of the tour but I think this is very personal and subjective. It has not to do with the quality of the tour and I think that you should review it once again.

As a challenging biker who visited Crete many times and joined all the different Cretebikes tours I can fully recommend the team and their excursion program. A huge variety of first class bikes incl. e-bikes plus modern equipment, the transparent, easy booking system and the profound information about the island, its history, traditions and of course the trails off the beaten track are convincing 100%. Tours are quite easy and can be done with the whole family. Bike team is competent and friendly. Everything well organized from the pickup's in the morning, the bike instructions, the well cooked BarBQ at noon and the swim stop at the end of the tour. A full day event for happiness, my thumbs are up for the Cretebikers..

Thanks a lot for a great biking trip! Biking was mainly downhill in very good road with good bikes so it was also safe journey. Guide Greg was superb and I had there the most funnies day in my holidays in Crete! Greg´s stories were great and we were able to see a lot in a one day (monastery, artists exceptional house, Gregs 8 dogs, coffee break, pottery shop, lunch, ice cream shop, beautiful cave, bali beach). Day was excellent and there were no hurry anywhere! I really enjoyed and I will remember that day for all my life :) I highly recommend!

Great place to hire a quality make (Trek mainly) hybrid or mountain bike. Well maintained and safe bikes ideal for cycling into the mountains. Some great local cycling climbs are on the doorstep like a trip up to Arkadi Monastry - over 500 metres of climbing. Also took the kids out on another day and had quality bikes to fit them too. Age 10 and 12. Recommended. Thank you Kostas.

Does anyone know approximate prices for the Crete bikes excursion trips?

Hi Catherine, the excursions are €55 each and half price for children under 14 years of age and this includes: Guide, insurance, bike hire and equipment, support vehicle, fruit on the way, barbecue lunch and use of snorkeling equipment. The only extras are €2.50 admission to the Arkadi Monastery (optional) and €3.50 admission to the Melidoni Cave (optional)
