Well worth the hard, muddy climb. At the time of our visit walking boots were essential as the ground was very wet and uneven. There are well-trodden paths but some of these were quite slippery due to loose gravel type stone. However upon reaching the...More

En route to my second Christmas lunch I pulled up on the A4 to prepare myself for the last leg through Bristol. I felt inclined to stretch my legs so checked the OS Maps app and there, just half a mile or so away, was...More

On leaving Bath heading towards the M4 be sure to look across to the left to get one of the best views in Somerset, quintessential England.

This is a straightforward uphill climb from either Bathampton or Batheaston and the views are fantastic. I defy anyone that climbs to the top not to have the Peter Gabriel song of the same name going round in your head!

This is a great walk with spectacular views when at the top. A strenuous walk to the top, a circuit of the top and down again - you’ll feel like you’ve had your daily exercise and it will have only taken about 1.5 hours or...More

Famous small flat topped triangular shaped hill with great views. Road goes to the top but with no parking anywhere nearby only the fit walker can see them which is a pity.

I think this hill is on the Bath City Skyline Walk route. Worth a look even if you're not taking the whole walk. Go over the bridge in town, up the hill, take a turning off to your right signposted Bath Skyline Walk. If you're...More
