Wife and I went on this tour and absolutely loved it. Our host (Ana) was fabulous, charming, helpful, informative, … The whole group (small number as you can see from the pictures) had a great time not just learning about the local architecture, local wines and traditional foods of Santorini, but also getting to know each other. Highly, highly recommended.

Our guide, Anna is fun loving and very passionate at what she does. We were a group of 10 folks from East, West and Midwest of US. Had a great time knowing them. We toured the city of Megalochori, some winery, learnt the history, cooked with the locally grown veges, toured more winery and met for the final drink by the Caldera for a sunset view.

What a tour! This is the best way to see another part of this island. The staff, the food, the wine and the views are more then 5stars. You should try it! 100% I recommended. You can find them on anydro.gr or AIRBNB. Go on in and enjoy the true food and culture of Santorini.

Naovi, daughter of the owner and farmer, was our guide and she was excellent. She is a student at the University of Amsterdam and is smart, very well spoken, and speaks excellent English. She first introduced us to a charming village, including history and visit to an old cave dwelling, and then to a locally family owned winery that has been in business for generations. We had an excellent introduction to the anhydrous production of Santorini wines, thoroughly enjoyed the tasting, and purchased some. We then toured their farm, saw tomatoes, water melons and an unusual cross between a water melon and cucumber. Afterward, we cooked a simple but very flavorful dinner including fried eggplant and zuccini, Santorini tomato fritters, Greek salad, and fava. We were then surprised at the end with Greek yogurt for dessert with the best sweet tomato’s actually cooked and “canned” by the owner’s family. Anna also instructed us in cooking and was delightful. Afterward, we all sat around the picnic table under the tree in the yard and just visited. Finally we saw the most beautiful sunset on the islands. My 18 year old niece was with me and enjoyed every minute. I highly recommend this tour as a way to see a different side of Santorini from the usual tourist sites.

This was an absolutely delightful day touring Megalochori, leaning about anhydrous farming, wine tasting the really unique flavors of Greek wine, and cooking a fantastic vegetarian meal. It was one of the major highlights of my trip. I am only bummed I didn’t take any photos of the beautiful courtyard setting where we are our meal under a giant tree—it was a really magical way to pass the afternoon chatting with new friends, learning about Greek cuisine, and just relaxing. Anna, our guide, was wonderful! She was an expert at getting to know members of the group, keeping conversation flowing, and making sure everyone had a great time. This was great for me, as I joined the group solo while waiting for my friends to arrive in Santorini from another island—I felt included and had a great time. If you’re on the fence, don’t be—go on this trip!
