Nice beach, usually calm waters in the mornings and windy with waves in the afternoon. Mostly clean waters.
The sea gets deep pretty quick. Lots of fish in the water, some of them will sting your feet if you're standing still!
Some parts of the beach have umbrellas and beds which are "free" to use provided you buy some food or drink from the beach bars. Other parts of the beach are genuinely free but you have to bring your own umbrella.

Astros is a beautiful secluded bay with crystal clear water and sandy gravel beach.
The water is calm so a great place for children and adults.
There are sunbeds and umbrellas available and bars and cafe's to dine in.

2,5km beach, from sand to pebbles, shallow to deep, crowded in some spots but has empty spaces. Very easy to get there-you just park and swim. More interesting is the place "Portes" near the end of the beach. Near-by there is a large wetland with a small lake in the center, where birds can be watched.

Stopped here after each of our 4 visits to Nafplio. We'd visit in the afternoon and stay until 7pm and despite the great weather it was quiet. Pebbly / sandy beach. Clean water. No steep drops into the sea, shelved gently. No water sports, just the crashing of the waves. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Changing cubicle and shower on beach, some car parking nearby. Wonderful views down the beach to the mountains beyond and in the other direction a small harbour and castle atop the hill. Perfect.

A big expanse of white sand, rocks and pebbles. Greeks all seem to sit on top of each other at the beach bars so most of the beach is wonderfully free of people Late afternoon kite surfers add to the fun.

Astros beach is within 40min from Tripoli and a great location to soak in the sun and swim in the clear warm waters of Greece. There are plenty of nice taverns to enjoy a traditional lunch and drinks. Great sun lounge facilities and reasonable parking available.

Just a 25 minute drive south from Nafplio with stunning views from a curly road you get to Paralio Astros. In the harbor are many restaurants next to each other where you will enjoy a lovely evening among the Greek people and some tourists.

Great beach town with lots of variety.
The beach is mostly pebbles with some sand in places. It can be very busy near the center/port but further down there are lots of chair & umbrella options. There is a lifeguard & some fresh water showers but not many public amenities. These chairs are usually "free" if you purchase a frappé from the restaurant. However, double check prices. One place with fancy new chairs is starting to charge. There are also spots to put up your own umbrella if you are very budget conscious. The water is usually calm in the morning with small waves in the afternoon. About 2km down it appears to be a popular kite surfing spot some windy afternoons.

In the coastal side of Arcadia is located Paralio Astros. A great place for families since the parents can relax while their kids are playing in the sand. Sandy and rocky beaches depending on your preference. You don't need to use your car because the beach is very close. Great traditional food especially the seafood that is served almost directly from the boat.

G'day - we are hoping to get to Paralio Astros next month. We will be coming from Athens so interested to get some advice (links to booking sites etc) on how to get there via public transport. Any suggestions welcome.
