One of the few beaches in the island with fime sand. Most of the places in Chios have pebbles, "Karfas" and "Emporios" have sandy beaches. The waters in Karfas are very shallow. Very good for children Very popular among the locals.

the sea level is so low for about 50 meters and not wavy, all sand around that children can play, enough taverns and cafes having own seabeds without any deposit

Such a great beach! It's sandy -- not rocky at all. There are a few restaurants that have beach chairs and umbrellas set up -- you just have to order a juice or coffee to sit in the chair for as long as you want. There is a nice man who rents pedal boats and paddle boards by the hour for a reasonable rate. Our whole family loved it. The day we went was not windy at all, which was nice.

We were here in the first week of July. First it was a bit windy and the water was quite cold, but then through the week, the sea got warmer and calmer, so we were able to swim there. The sea is really nice, a bit of grass at the beginning, but then really clean and clear. at first it is really shalow, but it gets deeper after 10 meters. So great for small kids. There are some restaurants by the beach, also offering free sunbeds, if you drink or eat at their restaurant. They offer also some water activities.

Maybe not the best, but one of the bests...If you want to benefit the potentials of the city but at the same time relax and swim comfortably at a reasonable price, Karfas Beach is the right address. The beach is sandy, the sea is shallow and the water is warm. There are lots of fine small restaurants by the seaside, offering nice food at affordable prices. Young and old couples, families with or without children, groups, friends...everybody is wellcome
