When visiting it in March, there is lot of water and we didnt have to be afraid about getting exhausted because of sun and heat. Went above the waterfall, but didnt quite know how to come safely down to see it. Sun was setting down, so we had to turn back. But it was still great! Enjoyed the wiews, big birds and hiking. Took the longer path from left.

Parked by the road (but realised we could have driven a little further in - but then we had gone there for the walk!). Easy terrain and a variety of flora, but no fauna, seen. Interesting walk but in October the fall was just a dribble. Then turned round and came back again. OK way to spend a couple of hours if you’re passing but didn’t feel it would be worth diverting too far to get to.

From Milonas village, you will find signs to the Waterfall of Milonas. You can drive up the dirt road until the walking path. A short walk of about 700 metres will bring you to the 40 metres high waterfall, which is instantly the highest one on Crete (Greece). Unfortunately, the waterfall was nearly dried out due to the hot summer with hardly any rain. But we were told by locals that in early spring it is impressive to see. It is not even by far the most beautiful, or the highest waterfall I ever saw, but keeping in mind that we are on Crete and only 300 kms away from the Libyan border, I have to admit it is pretty impressive. Not a must see when you are on Crete, but you won't regret it visiting it.
