We took a group of 5 (3-8 year olds) and they had a fun time. A few interactive exhibitions and things to do. Not as spectacular as some other aquariums around the world but reasonably priced and a good use of time if a wet/windy...More

We have visited the aquarium in January with not so many tourists so our experience was nice and not croudy. The entrance fee during winter period is 6 euro per person. The walk can be done within 30 minutes. There is a lots of small...More

Small quaint aquarium, not as expensive as the uk ones. We walked down the breach to it from Gouves if you have little kids I would recommend you take the little train to it which stops out side. All the tanks were clean the staff...More

Visited when we came to Crete in the October half term as the weather wasn’t great one day. Can’t say the aquarium here was anything special or to different to the ones we have in Norfolk. The sharks were good and the tanks were big....More

Don’t waste your money. Tiny tanks over crowded complete nightmare. Dangerous to walk from bus stop. Don’t know how they get away with it.

This really is worth a visit when in Crete. As others have said, don’t be put off by the area. The barren land makes this place feel isolated but the aquarium really is good. November’s low season, so it was quiet, no queues and only...More

As other reviewers have said the outside area from the road to the aquarium is less than inviting, take no notice this is very affordable and will occupy at least 2 hours with toilets and reasonable café as part of complex. Discounts for oldies like...More

It takes an hour for a quick tour but I took 2,5 hours to examine everything. Very nicely and user friendly exposed. I felt very pleased after the visits, The live shark collection and the skeleton jaws of several species were the most impressive.

Visited with my wife and 15 year old son. Surrounding area a bit run down but don't let this put you off. The aquarium is excellent with superb, clean, healthy fish tanks. It is also well worth paying a few euro extra for the virtual...More

Don’t be put off by the surroundings which look a bit run down, the aquarium is well worth a visit. Set on the site of an old military barracks near the sea, Cretaquarium is a modern aquarium with over 2000 marine inhabitants. This is the...More

I’m so sorry David, you’re question is probably not valid anymore, but in case it is: just rent a car. It’s easy driving in Greece. We we’re staying very near at walking distance but have explored a great deal of the island... More
