We visited this beach on our way back from Elafonisi. The water is clear and the waves are big but safe. We had a wonderful time.

If I go back to Crete I want to stay here forever. The sea feels warm or at least not freezing and clean. The children and I played in the waves and had a lovely meal at the taverna. The sand was great for sandcastles....More

My favourite beach so far. I went to balos and elafonissi. This is outstanding.we went here a few times. Perfect for swimming and it also has some pinkish tinged to the sand near the water.

29th of October and the water is still warm. One of our favorite beach in Crete, it’s best when it’s not to windy. Clear blue water and the pink sand it’s a beautiful combination.

How windy is Tigaki beach? (6 Replies)
Hi everyone, I need some help from peeps familiar with Tigaki beach in late August-early September. How windy does Tigaki beach get at that time of the season? Couple of years ago we stayed in Falassarna, Crete - gorgeous place, highly recommended, but one of our twin boys ended up in the hospital because his eczema went into overdrive with very strong wind that bashed the beautiful Falassarna beach for a week. We decided to change from Crete to Kos next year but having seen lots of...More

It is a bit difficult to call really. It can be windy at times, but maybe only for a day or so, then that is the time to stay by the pool or to explore some of the other parts of the island. In many visits over the past 15 years we have only had a real problem a couple of times when it can sting a bit to walk along the Beach Road. Very often if it is windy on that side of the island the beaches on the other side can be quite calm.

How to get to Balos & Elafonisi Beaches? (2 Replies)
I'll be staying at a hotel at Falassarna Beach. And I need to know what are the best ways to get to and from Balos and Elafonisi Beaches, since they don't have resorts surrounding them. Also are there jetskiis and snorkeling equipments I can rent at Falassarna Beach?

Yes, jet skis are available at the Big Beach in Falassarna on days when the sea is calm. But please do not disturb my peace by coming too close to the shore in the next beach along, Little Beach.

Official timetable bus from Chania/Kissamos to Falassarna (2 Replies)
Hi all, I read everywhere that it's so easy to reach Falassarna beach by bus from Chania or Kissamos but I can't find a single bus timetable anywhere on the Internet. The official KTEL website only shows buses that reach Platanos, which is close to Falassarna but not quite there. Is Falassarna bus stop called differently maybe? Can anybody help me? Thanks so much!
