What could be more quintessentially Greek than chugging out to sea in a colorful fishing boat? Even better: to be able to do it with Stratis (did I say Zorba?), a bigger than life character with great stories to tell and a wicked sense of humor. He takes you to Rabbit Island (where there are no rabbits but a huge colony of enormous seagulls), where you can go for a short hike, do a bit of swimming and snorkeling, and enjoy the views back to Lesbos Island from the sea's perspective. Then you putt-putt-putt back along the coast before sailing into Molyvos Harbor for that first ouzo of the evening. The whole adventure takes 3-4 hours. Don't forget sunscreen, hat, and sunglasses: the afternoon sun can be strong.

We took a 3 hour boat trip on Escape, the captain Stratis took us around the coast from Molivos to Petra and then on to Rabbit Island for a bit of a wander and a swim in the sea. Stratis pointed out various sights along the way. Stratis takes up to four people at a time on the boat but he doesn't mix groups so if two of you book you have the boat to yourselves. A really lovely way to spend 3 hours.

Went out for a 6 hr trip on my Birthday in August due to bad seas we had to go the Petra Anaxos rout but O my what a day visiting the Rabbit Island Stratis the captain is a very nice person and his Knowledge is the bomb will be going again to Anaxos August 2016 and will book a trip again :)

if you want to have a real greek experience take this trip, stratis is a local who can tell you many things about the island and its landmarks.
you can arrange trips for the times that suit you, and spend 3 or so hours going where you request.
the rabbit island is a great spot for snorkelling, shadow stratis while he catches fish with a harpoon and if you lucky see him catch and octopus with his bare hands.

İf you are in Molivos area for a few days,then it is going to be very good opportunity for you to book a boat for half day and see the best parts of the island at yr own privacy.Strongly recommended to make this tour as you will go thr nice bays of the island.Very good option...

Yes, Escape Boat Trips will take you just about anywhere you want in the area, and at any time of day for a memorable Agean Sea experience. However, it is the man himself, Stratis, Zorba you said, that really makes the trip memorable. A true Greek native and lover of Lesvos, Stratis can offer you so many other ways of enjoying the Greek hospitality and way of life. Simply ask him and he will have a story to share.

My husband and I went on a trip to Rabbit Island. Sunshine. Chugging of the little boat. Excellent company from Stratis who is so interesting to chat with plus has the inevitable twinkle! A throwback to Shirley Valentine times. He and husband disappeared snorkelling for a while so I had the islands wonky jetty to sit on feet dangling in the clear sea, sun on my back, what more can anyone ask for.

If you are going to do anything while in Molyvos, then this must me on your to do list. We have done a few trips with Stratis. He will take you on on his traditional Greek fishing boat, where will you go? The choice is yours, St George’s Island, Skala Sikaminia, Dolphin watching? It really is up to you.
Stratis takes it easy around the coast line pointing out various cliffs, rock formations & villages along the way. The sea looks so crystal clear, your photo opportunities are endless. My wife said she felt like Shirley Valentine 😂
If you like swimming, Stratis will find a nice safe spot to anchor and in you go!
Lunch, well there are Tavernas at Skala or simply take a bottle of wine and maybe some Spanakopita and enjoy.
Stratis is a genuine character, you will not be disappointed 👍🏻

Just wanted to say a big thanks to Stratis for a very honest and genuine experience. My wife and I were booked in for an afternoon boat trip with him, when we arrived at the harbour everything looked fine to us, however Stratis was concerned the weather would turn wet and gloomy during our trip and suggested we postpone for another time. Sure enough and hour later the heavens opened and the sea turned very rough.
He could easily have taken our money and taken us out anyway, but as he said himself he wanted us to have the best experience possible.
As any tourist knows there's always people willing to take your hard earned cash regardless, Stratis wasn't one of those. Well be back to Molyvos we hope, and when we do we'll be straight back to see Stratis to go out on his boat.

When we were out on a trip in the morning, someone called and he had a free slot that afternoon....I guess in high season you’d need more notice than low season
