Visited only from the outside, but got a chance to glance at the view from all corners. Recommended even from the outside only. Beautiful at night with all the lightning.

What an impressive sight !! From the Byzanthium / Genuese /Ottomaniun MiddleAgetime period. Climb through the village, or take the auto route. It’s realy worthwhile, but please remember, closed on mondays 😉.

As Americans, we love castles. This one was pretty nice, because you can walk all round the grounds and get a good view of the town. The stroll up to the castle through the old town is really nice too. We overheard a British tourist...More

Well worth the walk up through the lovely old cobblestone streets of molyvos to visit the castle. As in all Greece, sites are closed Mondays. Spectacular views across to turkey which is only 8 Kms away and down the coast of lesvos. Worth paying to...More

The castle is well worth a visit for the views alone. The entrance charge is only 2 Euros and the history of the castle is well presented in the old prison cells.

The ruins of the castle are beautiful. The entrance is only 2€ per person. But it closes early (around 15h). The little train of Petra and Molyvos will take you right there.

This castle if very dramatic in the landscape and is certainly a feature in the area. We walked up the steps from the sea front of Molivos to the Castle. This is an aerobic exercise but well worth it. It has held a strong fortress...More

We went here and walked to the top - but it was Monday and the place was closed It was still worth the effort though to get to the top through all the little shops and bars

Towering over molyvos town, this semi-ruined castle is a great visit. Entry is only 2 euros and there are lots of information boards, scattered around. Well explained. English and Greek. The view is phenomenal. Wear proper shoes as the ground is rough (plant life underfoot)...More
