We went here along our day trip from Funchal to Santana. It kind of justified our decision for this trip, because reviews on Santana being worth it were iffy. Santana was OK, but this factory was just a total waste of time. we saw some...More

Luckily for us we were on a private taxi tour as this is the sort of place holiday coach trips stop at for 45 minutes. At least it is in the centre of a town and not isolated. Our driver had avoided early morning visit...More

Although interesting to see the craftsmen at work and view some of the pieces they have produced, including a replica of the Santa Maria and several animals, the main emphasis was on selling the wickerwork.

We called here as part of a tour. There is a shop selling wicker baskets and every thing wicker. You can also walk downstairs to see wicker makers doing their work. It is free to enter.

Slightly hard to find the curve shop / factory, but succeeded. There are many beautiful curves, big and small things. On the lower floor they sit and braid. Good prices on baskets. Nice little trip from Funchal
