we did this tour in january and were not expecting to see that many animals (bc it‘s not the season) but we were soooo lucky and saw fake killer whales! it was outstanding! but the best part was definitely our guide Alexandra! She was so motivated, friendly, helpful, smart and full of enthusiasm. It was so fun with her and I would definitely do it again! thank you

Very knowledgeable and experienced staff, respective of the animals and nature. We were lucky to see multiple species on our tour.
Dress for the wind, the speed boats are rather fast.
And remember, this is the wild, there are no guarantees.

We had great time at this tour, our guide - Marylee was very informative and took a great care of us. This company takes responsibility for following guidelines and not distressing wild life, which I believe is very important. Take look seriously at their jobs and you can tell they all love and care for animals.
Great experience with great company, would not go for anybody else for this tour

Nice even if whe don't see whales. But I very thought we ever see whales in azores. I think the best is to sell it as an boat tour with whales watching if we are lucky !

Had a great day of dolphin watching with Terra Azul. We didn't manage to see some whales, but hard to "blame" that on the company.

The most important aspect, which Terra Azul really put emphasis on was the respect for the animals and the environment. They where really clear that the most important was respect for the animals and thats their top priority. Which felt really good when going out with them.

It was a pretty waivy day, but the skipper did his best to give us a pleasant trip.

Towards the end they even gave us a tour of the islet of vila franca do campo, even though i dont think it was planned.

The marine biologist/guides where super friendly, very informative and made sure everyone had a good time, got to ask questions etc.

I really recommend Terra Azul!

I loved being with three different pods of dolphins 🐬. It was magical! I loved the ocean conservation awareness education. The team was great. Nicole hid a bottle in the ocean. We fished it out and it contained a message: Happy Birthday! That was such a special treat and gift. Thank you so much!

Worst experience ever. Went there for nothing. They made us wait one hour in front of store and ended up cancelling the tour because there wasn’t any animals spotted. Couldn’t believe it especially since we had paid our transfer 70€ which wasn’t refundable. I never thought they could cancel the boat just because there wasn’t any animals in sight. I believed at least we would enjoy a nice sight seeing on the water. Animals aren’t everything. It’s worth it to go out and just enjoy nature. This is really a sad sad way to view things.

Dear Friend, Thank you for your visit and your feedback. We're sorry you were unlucky not to see Whales :/ We understand how it may be frustrating, however we can only allow our boats to go out when favorable weather and safety conditions are met, and chances to see animals are acceptable. It is the sustainable thing to do when fuel consumption is involved, which I hope you can understand. Our transfer is available at the cost of approx. €8, depending on your accommodation location. Although in the Azores Islands there are 4 resident cetacean species (including Sperm Whales), and 20 more (up to a third of the world's known) passing by throughout the year, unfortunately, as in any wildlife tour, it is not possible to guarantee that we will see specifically Whales, or any specific species at a specific time frame. We only go out when there is good chance for sightings, but even with fast Zodiac boats and our Whale lookouts placed high inland, our friends move fast and it is not uncommon for them to dive and disappear into the deep Ocean. However, we do understand how it can be frustrating to have your tour cancelled with no available alternative abd we're always looking towards improvement. We do offer alternatives, but for logistic reasons it was not possible to provide. We will look into this matter to ensure alternatives are provided. We hope you can understand this reasoning and verify the reviews and comments from other visitors, to revise your review to a higher star rating for our service quality. We wish you can come back for another tour, hopefully with better luck :)

Morning trip half day during off season. Common dolphins only, but a multitude. So much fun in the small boat out on the water. Great views of island(s) and the marine biologist was great. Captain lots of fun as well. Highly recommend getting out there.
