- coh8Glasgow, United Kingdom931 contributionsHaving walked around 70% of the lake path, and visited the steam holes to see the lunch pots, we needed a quick snack before our ill-fated trip to the Dona Beija baths nearby. Had we actually received a timely message about the water contamination on 27 July, we would have entered this park instead. While the 10 euro charge appears steep, the park appeared well laid out and worth visiting. My son actually wants to visit the nearby zip wire place too (is this the same venue or entirely separate?). Me too. In short, loved strong coffee and boiled eggs cooked underground. Both were served with a smile too. The cozido (underground stew) served to the French family looked very appetizing indeed and very good value at 25 euro. Maybe next time........Visited July 2024Traveled with familyWritten August 21, 2024
- AlaskaLauryJuneau, Alaska12 contributionsThe park is lush and nicely designed. Worth the €10 per person. We just want to warn patrons of a few things. We ordered the "goat stew" at the small kitchen at the entrance, thinking we'd each get a bowl of something like soup. Instead, we each got a massive many-pound platter of boiled, plain meats and root vegetables. Really, each plate would've been plenty for three people. We worked off a little lunch by climbing the 630 stairs to see a trickle of what would've been a rushing waterfall if it hadn't been at the tail end of a hot summer. Finally, we took a quick dip in the little hot tubs back down at the bottom, mistakenly thinking they might be part of a hot springs related to the nearby fumaroles. They'e not -- and they're not even all hot. Gorgeous forest. Lessons learned.Visited October 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten October 2, 2024
- NKAParisCasablanca, Morocco419 contributionsBeautiful park with dense vegetation. Entry: 10 euros. We went there around noon, but there were so many people at Lake Furnas, we decided to come back around 4pm. It takes more than 600 steps to reach the top of the waterfall. The path is beautiful, some viewpoints beautiful, but the waterfall was disappointing because it consisted of a trickle of water without interest. We were able to swim below, where the water is cold, but refreshing. I highly recommend the ride.Visited August 2024Traveled with familyWritten August 13, 2024
- paulandc0Sintra, Portugal5,904 contributionsDon’t be surprised, it’s €3 per person to access the car park and the fumaroles, and then you have to fight with a cash machine (€10) and an automatic gate that quickly rejected you (and no agent to help you...) to be able to access the Park proper. But once back, everything is beautiful and you just have to follow the arrow paths (don't forget to take a photo of the card before going home, it will be very useful). We did all the stations except 1 and 2. Note that it goes up and down all the time. Due to the fact that admission is charged, the Park is not overcrowded and you can enjoy nature to the fullest. Do not hesitate to go for a walk to the Casa de Grená, an enchantment.Visited September 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten September 22, 2024
- myriamLuxembourg City, Luxembourg104 contributionsYou come by car to a parking lot that costs 3€, then just behind it are the beautiful lake and the steaming volcano places that you can visit. then a little behind you can buy a ticket in the bar to visit the waterfall 10€ p.p. It is worth seeing it goes about 5 km steeply up through the forest (partly by stairs). There are 4 levels of waterfall however the last the number 1 at the top is very nice.Visited March 2025Traveled with friendsWritten March 19, 2025
- NorthStar659182364272 contributionsBeautiful park visited in an afternoon. The park is beautiful streams, waterfalls, heated water tanks, bridges, stairs very well maintained path and I think the most beautiful natural park visited! To pay attention: Entrance fee 10 € per person, there is no ticket office but only an automatic teller machine in my case did not work the POS system and fortunately I had cash notes to enter. Others for this problem failed to enter. The ticket must also be kept to go out otherwise you will remain locked in the park! Good thing I kept the tickets. Unfortunately we did not find staff to turn to in case of need or phone numbers this could become a problem.Visited August 2024Traveled with familyWritten September 2, 2024
- garyaugsAugsburg, Germany1,397 contributionsAt first, we were a bit surprised. On a (probably outdated) wooden sign an entrance fee of 3€ was charged, but in fact it was 10€. however, this park is worth every cent. The park actually consists of a gorge that you go up. There are many branches, otherwise it is already a few steps up. You walk through a veritable jungle from one great waterfall to another. In some cases you can also swim in the pools. Near the exit, bathers with warm thermal water are waiting for you. A great experience.Visited August 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten October 17, 2024
- lowieverlindenAntwerp, Belgium10 contributionsGrená Park as the first activity in our stay on Sao Miguel, turns out to be one of the highlights. The amazing nature marvels from the first minutes and gets better as the visit progresses. We did the climb to the waterfall, at the top of the park. Despite the fact that the waterfall was barely present due to little rainfall, in early September, we found the walk to it beautiful enough in itself. The route is clearly marked and the roads are well laid out. Definitely recommended for anyone who loves beautiful nature.Visited September 2024Traveled with familyWritten September 7, 2024
- Raw AWorld54 contributionsA beautiful, well maintained private park. It is open from 9:30am to 6pm (doors close at 5pm). You pay at the gate. I was there early and first checked out the volcanoes and walked around the lake. I was glad to be there by 9:30 as no one else showed up until around 11, so I got the park to myself. The hot tub, heated by a wooden stove was my favorite part.Visited March 2024Traveled soloWritten April 5, 2024
- José N4 contributionsWe loved the visit, from the hot baths of the entrance and the pools of the river, to the climb to the viewpoint. It is a very manicured park with diversity of places to see and trails to discover. The price of 10€ is reasonable. The only thing that disappointed us was the visit to the main waterfall, which involved considerable effort, and was dry. Obviously it's not the park's fault but nature's fault, but maybe they should warn you first...Visited August 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten August 7, 2024

We visited by accident really as we were passing by and simply turned in to see what the attraction was, but we are so glad we did.
It's €3 each to enter the lake area with its volcanic cookers and lake side paths, restaurant, spotless toilets, etc.
It's a further €10 per adult to enter the Grena Park, which a lot of people seemed to walk away from, but it's so well worth the entry fee.
There are many paths within the park, some of which are not well sign posted but young people especially will love it, as the paths meander in and under fallen trees with flaura growing from the fallen truck, it is guite magical with hidden rest benches and swings etc.
We headed for the high waterfall and a word of warning here ⚠️ there is a sign at the bottom of the climb which states its a high difficulty rated climb of 630 steps to the waterfall and it certainly is not understated. It's a hard slog, albeit children seemed to run up and down past us. On the day we visited, it certainly was not worth the climb as the fall of water was barely notable, however left of this sign at the bottom (saving you a huge climb and a litre of sweat) is a lesser in height but much more impressive waterfall with a wee swimming pond at the base of it. This was beautiful and so welcoming after our climb. A number of brave souls went for a swim, including some young children and myself stripped to boxers. Being mountain water, it is initially quite refreshing but quickly turns to a beautiful experience.
Our timetable didn't allow for more, so even though we only saw a small portion of the park, we as 2 adults thoroughly enjoyed it , hence if you have teens or younger its a must, they will have a ball.
There is even a hot tub near the exit, which we didn't get an opportunity to tr. However, I will be better prepared both on time frame and swimming attire next time.
The staff are also fantastic, friendly, interactive, and helpful.
Highly recommended, I will definitely be back. It's easily a 3 - 5 hour visit, but you'd knock the day out of a leisurely meander to all the parks attractions before dining at the onside restaurant.

We went into this park with our kids (3 and 5) and explored the area. You do have to pay 10 Euros to get into this park, even though the sign says 3 Euros. There are multiple well marked paths you can take once inside that will take you through some nice pathways and along a stream with multiple waterfalls. You can swim in the water under one of them but it was pretty crowded when we went. Overall a nice area to explore, especially for kids.

The park is beautiful and I must say a good workout also. Beautiful views and cascades. However, is close to the Caldeiras da Lagoa das Furnas where you need to pay 3€ per person, which is ridiculous and can put people off visiting this amazing place which charges 10€ per person

Really loved it here. Yes, you have to pay €10pp but we had 3hours here exploring, including a great dip in waterfall #4.
Beautifully looked after, lots of lovely sit points and view points. Enough of a hike up to the top waterfall and view point to get the heart rate up and legs burning.
Much better than a walk around the lake, so worth every penny in my opinion.

Exploring Grena Park in San Miguel Island was an absolute delight! The park's natural beauty is simply breathtaking, with its incredible trails and stunning scenery that will leave you in awe. The Japanese bath was a unique and relaxing experience, and it was the perfect way to unwind after a long day of hiking. The park is well-maintained and the staff were very friendly. We loved every moment spent at Grena Park, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a nature-filled adventure in San Miguel Island!

This was a magical place to hike and our breath was taken away at each turn. It will take a long time to get through all the beautiful photos we took. We were amazed at how many visitors there to see the boiling hot springs balked at the 10 euro entry fee; the experience was so well worth it! I would say that the scenery was Disney-like, but everything was alive. I am a bit surprised, though, that the place is labeled as a wildlife park. The featured animals are ferrets and rabbits in enclosures, although there were plenty of singing birds on the loose.

You will be charged to park your car. Then you will be charged to get to the hiking trails. The machine that collects money to get to the trails was confusing to use. No one was around to ask questions of. Did have a very nice piña colada in a pineapple in the parking lot however

The beautiful Green Park is a heaven for hikers and nature lovers. Located just by the fumaroles of Lake Furnas where all the underground cooking for local restaurants takes place (or where you can cook your own meal) it is a lovely place to visit and experience the beauty of local forests and waterfalls. Highly recommended!

A lovely place to spend an afternoon. To get the most out of it you need to be able to climb many many steep steps to the top of a waterfall, but it's worth it. Beautiful views. If you don't go up to the top of the waterfall you'll still see smaller cascades and enjoy a lovely walk through the woods. There is an entry fee.

Today, November 16 2020, we went there from Ponta Delgada (45km each way) just to visit the Park. To our surprise, everything was closed... not a single information on the gates nor on their site. We asked around (there was a men doing some works inside the gates) and nobody knew what was going on.
So, what I can say about Parque Grená is this:
A Top Class, pure, natural, incomparable... shameless behaviour.
