We have travelled from the UK far to find beaches like this and here a short flight to Portugal we have the most beautiful, clean beach we have seen in years. It has been awarded Blue Flag recognition for its clean clear water, pollution free with soft golden sands. People were enjoying surfing and locals were fishing off the beach for bass. Access to beach from cliffs is via wooden stairs, disabled access could be an issue. Cafe at the car park area is reasonable and served good coffee with seating in a nice sun spot. A short walk to lovalmrestaurants.

Beautiful long beach, where you can take long walks. It is also very photogenic. The only disadvantage is the accessibility. You either have to take the stairs, or by a car, but there is not a lot of parking spots. But the beach is clean, not too crowded. You can rent a sun bed, costs 20€ - two sunbeds and an umbrella. I totally recommend this beach.

It's a gorgeous beach, but not easily accessible to the disabled.
Miles of gorgeous sand and fewer people than the neighbouring main Vilamoura beach. Gorgeous restaurant, if a bit pricey on the beach. We stayed on a nearby site, Aldeia do Golf, so we walked and when we left we ended up eating at a gorgeous little cafe (and I am annoyed I can't remember the name!) which was about five minutes walk from the beach. We had charred sardines which were just perfect.

An amazing beach and like the others in Portugal were very clean. Nearby was a bar which was serving food and drink all day along with sun beds available to hire for the day for €10 each.
Suitable for all although it is the Atlantic so the waves can be strong at times, but still suitable for all.

Here’s another reason why I love the Algarve! Praia da Falesia is a class on its own, with a long, fine and clean sandy beach, several kilometres long, and the breathtaking orange, ochre and chalk white cliffs that have been eroded over millennia. Some portions of the cliffs have been naturally moulded into columns, giving one a feeling that this must be another planet.
Words cannot fully describe the awesomeness of this place. All I felt that day was deepest gratitude for being witness to Mother Nature’s work of art, to the Creator of all this beauty.

Absolutely fabulous walking from Vilamoura down to Praia do Barranco das Belharucas where there is a fabulous beach restaurant Un spoilt cliff walks, no health and safety just common sense. Views and formations are incredible. Make sure you have water and sun cream as there are long sections where there is nothing. Best coastal walk i've had!

Beach is a must see, absolutely stunning, however access is difficult. There are so many steps even when using the lifts and in the heat it is difficult.
PROS: must see, stunning clean beach
CONS: restaurants more expensive, access is difficult with all the steps especially climbing back up again, sunbeds expensive ++

There are permanent umbrellas on the beach with lawn chairs for rent. They are about 25 meters from the shoreline. These are on a public beach. Today, we went way passed the umbrellas toward the water. We set up camp about 5 meters from the water's edge so that we would not block the view of the rental umbrellas. We were told that we could not open our small beach umbrella in front of the rental area. That we would have to move to the outer side of the posted signs if we wanted to open our umbrella.
Please correct me if I am wrong, aren't all beaches (sand to water) public to all people legally in this country? Can Portugal declare the sand to waterline, private? Is there a Portuguese law that states no open umbrellas on the beaches?
Just for your information, I complied with the life guard's request to close my umbrella only because in the beach regulations, which are posted, states that beach goers should obey directives stated from a lifeguard. Thank you

Lovely walk in the sun. Cliffs are stunning. We set out on Ohlas De Aqua beach, walked left over the rocks as tide was far enough out and took a nice leisurely 2 hour walk along until we reached Vilamoura Marina. 3 beach cafes/restaurants with WC/ beds and parasol available along the way. Bridge over into the Marina, turn left and follow the road around, nice shops and restaurants all around the harbour. Took the number 9 bus back to Ohlos De Agua for 2.40 euro each.

What's the story with the sunbeds here? Fabulous beach but we are told the sunbeds are all reserved for one week or two weeks so there were no sunbeds available today even though half the sunbeds were empty. Very disappointing for tourists who travelled for some sun during covid restrictions. Is this a covid measure or what? I would have thought the previous system where maybe some beds were reserved but not all of them and then it was first come, first served was a fairer approach? I also didn't see any cleaning of beds which was very active in the beach restaurants.

Hi,
My wife, 14 yo and 8 yo are looking at visiting Falesia Beach July 7-15 this year. We were wondering if it is kid friendly place and what teen/kid water and non water activities are available. They are both very adventurous :)
Also what’s a good city to fly into to get to Falesia Beach?
Thanks

Its a great beach, Algarve is a great place. Faro is nearest airport. If you like to drive get a car from the airport you can visit most of the Algarve in less then 1 hr drive

In October 2018 we had very nice weather. Sunny, but not hot, 23-24 deg.Celsius. In the evening and night could be fresh. If not windy you could still jump in the ocean.
