Sheltered cove so just a slight breeze and calm water albeit a little cool. The sun warmed you up though. Course sand and some rocks at the extreme east of the beach. To the west of the beach were interesting rock formations. The west of the beach had only one or two people while the east had loads, no idea why as the west part seemed nicer.

What a lovely little fishing village Olhos D'Agua is, we chose to holiday here on previous reviews we saw and we were not disappointed!
The main area of the village is situated on the beach front with a number of restaurants and bars where you can get great food and have a drink in the sunshine, the beach is lovely.
What we liked most about this place was it is ideal for couples and families who want a quieter and more relaxing holiday and do not want to be bothered by those large and annoying groups of the stag and hen type
wqqho tend to be drawn to resorts like Albufeira.
The locals here are friendly and welcoming
and is a place we will certainly be returning to in the near future.

This year was our third consecutive holiday to the little coastal town of Olhos D’Agua in mid March. There is so much to do without hiring a car so long as you can walk with at least a leisurely pace and you are able to walk up gentle inclines. You can sit on the little sea front and watch the seagulls rooting around the sands after the tide has gone out for a tasty morsel to eat, enjoy a drink in one of eight/nine little cafes/bars and people watch, indulge in a delicious ice cream after a paddle in the warm sea, walk east or west from the town to beautiful soft sandy beaches with breathtaking cliffs where you can take part in hang gliding or cliff top walking or fishing from the sandy beaches. You can cross the main road through the town and walk on tarred roads and rough tracks taking in the sights and smells of the surrounding countryside - lemons, oranges, almonds, figs and apricot and endless
Bugamvilia and wild orchids. The choice for eating out is extensive for a small town - Indian, Chinese, Italian, Portuguese and most of a very high standard and cater for vegetarians too. There are bars to suit all too- Jazz, sports, karaoke to name but a few as well as happy hours in most hotels. There is also a large supermarket and a few small local ones should you be self catering as well as Chinese bazaars to rummage in. Whatever you do, you should not forget to buy a net of oranges from the roadside sellers, a simple plastic orange squeezer from the aforementioned bazaar and treat yourself to freshly squeezed orange juice every day of your holiday. Mmmm! Portugal in a glass! If hiring a car, I can recommend Visacar, downtown Albufeira. Excellent service and very reasonable prices. They are a 10minute bus ride from Olhos D’Agua. Our favourite places for day trips are: Cabo de SAN Vincent and Sagres, Lagos ,Tavira , Monchique, Silves and visited on every trip...the mountain village of Alte (a very, very special place) to name but a few. Temperature in March has always been like a Good British summer, but chilly at night.

My favourite beach in the world WEO the uk. The sea can be abit rough but the clean sands and great atmosphere is just so relaxing after many years I've never had a problem, loads of everyone young and old alike and the GDR are always on hand.
Brilliant, escalators to the east and a lift to the west.

Excellent area to visit. We visited whist staying in nearby Pine Cliffs resort and had a lovely lunch overlooking the ocean. Lovely fresh fish in a restaurant overlooking the sea. Well worth a visit.

Beautiful and unspoiled. Lovely beach bars and restaurants too! Easy to walk to but little hilly for anyone with mobility issues. Scenery is awesome. Enjoyed several walks and went on to do extended beach walk too as far as Villamoura but you need to watch the tides.

Everyone can spend a full day here. There are plenty of things to do. From exploring the beach and the cliffs at the end of it to participating in water sports or just simply relaxing on the sunbeds, you can do it all. The best part is that the promenade with many restaurant options is just there! Also, there are pharmacies and shops nearby if needed.

Visited this beach for the day. Enjoyed the quiet beauty of the red clay cliffs, soft sand and clean blue water. Walked over some exposed rocks during the low tide to the adjoining beach. Had lunch at a lovely restaurant right on the beach. Exquisite views from the top of the cliff. Well worth a visit for those staying in nearby Albufeira.

A quiet picturesque beach, we walked here from our hotel and spent the afternoon here.
Theres a few bars and restaurants near, so it's an ideal place just to enjoy the sun and scenery watching the world go by.

The main part of the beach, is backed by a new small traffic free promenade and approach walkway. Here you will find several bars cafes and restaurants, as well as a modern toilet and shower block. There is a free car park at the top of the hill (5 min walk to beach), or a brand new multi storey pay car park close to the beach. There is a top class restaurant (La Cigale) on the small cliff overhanging the beach. Just to the right of the main beach round the small cliff is a further and larger beach area, which is less crowded in the summer. Olhos de agua, although still a small fishing village, has been subject to major upgrading/updating works in 2009. Either side of Olhos De Agua beach, there are two other very large beaches (Falesia & Maria Louisa). All three beaches offer excellent sunbathing and swimming facilities.

Is it suitable for wheelchair
Carol H

It would be a challenge to access the beach in a wheelchair. The hill down to the beach is very steep and the pavement is uneven.
Are there sun beds on Olhos de Agua beach near Riu Guarana Hotel, thank you.

There weren’t when I went in November but I believe there are earlier in the season. Lot of hotels and restaurants were shut in November.
There’s a bar on beach which unfortunately was shut.
If you walk along cliff top there’s benches. I used one of these to lie in the sun. Nicer views up there. Nice place to watch the sun set too.

The boat trips and fishing trips I have done over the years I used to leave from Vilamoura harbour. Now though more recently from the new Albufeira harbour which is closer from Olhos da agua. The agents you book from will tell you which harbour. Hope this helps.
