Played here twice in 2016 and have booked again for May 2017. We had to cancle a booked tee time due to a tummy bug and this was handled really well with the offer of fitting us in at a later date. This course still retains the club feel and although very popular does not feel like a resort course.... More

Lovely course and some challenging holes - nice views with a few elevated tees - last two holes particularly challenging. For some reason however - for the first time I got bitten to death by mosquitoes despite having protection on - not happened before so perhaps it was just one of those days!

Having visited the area on many occasions and played most of the other courses, we finally played San Lorenzo by staying at the Formosa park hotel. The course has a high reputation and ranking in most golf magazines, why?. The condition did not match the reputation, scruffy fairways and slow greens , though a testing and interesting layout. The staff... More

We played San Lorenzo twice last week as a group of 20 guys on a golfing holiday. The course has some outstanding holes as well as a few ordinary ones. It was in fabulous condition with good greens. I had a few niggles though which detracted from the enjoyment of the golf at this club. Firstly, the marshals patrolling the... More

San Lorenzo is a difficult test of your golfing skills. Although not particularly long, you need to pick your way carefully round the course. There are lots of 'risk and reward' holes that are not for the faint hearted. Unless you hit particularly straight, I would advise you take plenty of balls as there is water on lots of holes.... We have played San Lorenzo between 4 times and 6 times per week during a week's golf holiday at Hotel Dona Filipa in 4 of the last 6 years. First impressions six years ago were of the great layout with some amazing holes. We can still remember every single hole on this really scenic golf course. The layout and views... More

As this course is rated so highly we were entitled to expect something special. Sadly we were left disappointed. Yes the layout is great and the greens very good but the general feeling is one of tiredness and lack of maintenance, both on and off the course. Not sure how much was due to time of year but the course... More

Excellent condition and empty - millionaires golf ( with the properties to match ) Clubhouse and changing cupboard desperately need an upgrade but as soon as you arrive at the 6th hole all is forgiven.

We played here in early January 2017 - 3 rounds over 3 days - excellent course condition, great course, many really good holes. Stayed at the Dona Filipa hotel - the shuttle bus back & forth to hotel was excellent as it ran on-time each day.
