- Samo ŠKamnik, Slovenia21 contributionsNature in all its gloryBeautiful nature and surroundings. I recommend leaving your car at the entrance to the national park and exploring it by bike. We had electric bikes and it was great. We also climbed to the old Austro-Hungarian fort, from where there is a fantastic view. The new multimedia center is very well organized. We also went to the salt lake and saw the nearby cliffs.Visited May 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten May 23, 2024
- Jason47 contributionsIf I could give a “6” rating I wouldIf you see a “4” rating I think they didn’t go to the right places. This is one of the only tourist spots deserving of a “6 rating. The water colours are not seen in too many places (the closest would be the South Island of New Zealand). The interactive gallery and the viewing Center were world classVisited June 2024Traveled soloWritten June 18, 2024
- violaLiguriaGenoa, Italy33 contributionsGood, but not properly a natural parkThe view especially from the viewpoint is something to do in your life. A special panorama that you will harderly find elsewhere. The park is more a commercial than a natural one. Dedicated to the boats unfortunately often not respectful of the rules on wasting: nobody controls anyway. Only the main track is well maintained, whilst is hard to follow the others: not signed and not preserved. The bays and the lake is stagnant. However, you can have fantastic swims on the west side of the island. The sea is also nice in the beach in front of the restaurant but crouded of people and boats.Visited August 2024Traveled with familyWritten August 14, 2024
- CraigandCleoLondon, United Kingdom20 contributionsA lot to see - & visitor centre not to be missed!Telascica Nature Park is worth is visit but how you visit (boat trip, by car, without a car) will hugely impact your experience. Unfortunately the Park’s official website doesn’t tell you much to prepare for a visit which means you can miss alot! We visited by car coming from the mainland on a ferry. You enter the park at a turning just before Sali. We paid on arrival, around €7 per adult, €7 car and €5 per child, We found the staff on the desk helpful and they provided a map which made sense of the park. Driving through the first part of the park, you come the first beautiful bay (looking on to the 2 tiny islands). It looked good for swimming and the area was almost deserted in the middle of the day. Unfortunately restaurants around this part of the bay didn’t open until 4pm. Driving on further into the park you can turn left for the visitor centre or drive straight on to the car park. You can’t drive all the way down to Bay Mir. A free shuttle bus to Bay Mir is provided from the car park (twice an hour in August) for those with entrance tickets. The journey takes about 10 minutes. Bay Mir is the busiest part of Telascica. It’s a beautiful setting but does feel very commercial with lots of boats arriving and tourist prices for food. The water is good for swimming, our family enjoyed it. A short (steep) walk up a hill and you reach great cliff viewpoint. Also 5 minutes’ walk from Bay Mir and you can see/swim in the Salt Lake. The visitor centre (opened in 2022) is the best of its kind I’ve ever been to, don’t miss it, especially with children. It’s positioned at one of the island’s best viewpoints where you can view most of the park from above. After the heat of the day all its rooms are air-conditioned, and full of interactive features. It also has seating and a playground both in the shade. We could have stayed there 90 minutes or more, the children were rapt with the underwater/animals room. This visit completed an excellent day for us. Hope this helps others make sense of this beautiful place.Visited August 2024Traveled with familyWritten September 4, 2024

Let me start by saying that I don't want to take anything away from the magic of the lush nature of Dugi Otok, but I also can't help but define the half day spent in the aforementioned area as disappointing.
You enter the area by paying 7 euros per person (+7 for the car), then continue for a few km to a car park. From there you walk along an undemanding path for about 2 km. Once you arrive at the lake, well, you find yourself in front of a basin that is not particularly significant, whose banks are invaded by masses of tourists, many of whom arrive on boats intended for typical one-day tours. However, the view of the cliff is worth it.

We explored this area by boat and it was a beautiful calm sunny day. There are a couple of restaurants accessible by boat, some have very limited availability so call ahead. The water is so clear and lovely and warm for swimming when we visited. We stayed overnight on a mooring buoy and enjoyed a peaceful starlight evening on board. There are obviously other ways to explore if you take a car to the island from the mainland, and much more to see than we managed, however it was an idyllic experience.

The place is nothing exceptional. The salt lake is a scam!! Servizi offerti: nessuno!! The bathrooms are under renovation. The docking dock does not offer water or electricity and for the overnight stop you asked 100€ (and we know from friends that the day before yesterday they asked 70€). Paid a little more the previous stop in the marina aci kornati with all services and entrance to the park. Absolutely not recommended. To call them cheaters is to say the least

Easy enough car access, paid 7€ per person + 7€ per car. The walk surrounded by nature is no big deal, the salt lake and the high points are the only positive thing. If you are looking for a place to take a bath there is definitely better since access to the sea is scarce and pots from boats and tourists.

They are crazy, not recommended. There was rough seas and they wanted to leave anyway, with children on board. Due to the bad weather they had to cancel one of the two stops at the islands, so a whopping five hours of ship and three hours of island with rain. Obviously, no compensation for the inconvenience.

Beautiful park on the island Dugi otok. Nice for a day trip, clear waters, an easy 5 min hike to the outside with a stunning view of the cliffs. We came early and were there before the crouds.

Garbage on beaches? They could really use the money from the entry tickets to clean up a bit. Otherwise, a very nice nature park. I recommend hiking and kayaking. FYI entry is free after 17h.

Bonjour,
Je voudrais savoir s'il y a des départs de randonnées depuis le port de Sali vers le sud de l'île et si on peut se passer de la voiture pour une journée sur l'ile .
Merci

Ferry from Zadar to Brbinj with the car. Withouth the car hydrofoil from Zadar to Sali. Sali is the last town in the island to go more south you can go only with the boat.

Hello. What time does the park open? And is there food available for purchase when within the park?
Thanks!
Written June 3, 2019
The park open at 8,30 a.m. If you go in the afternoon after 4,00 pm is free entrance at least if it's not hight season. There is a restaurant but we were there for first of may and it was still closed

How do you get there from Sali? We are looking to go in Oct this year and don't really fancy boat tours so much.
Written August 3, 2016
Depends which part of Telascica you want to explore, till the point where is donkey sanctuary from Sali you have 8 km, which at least for me, takes 2 hours of walking and from there still around 10 minutes walk to the salty lake Mir. Unless you plan to spend a whole day there I think its better that you rent a scooter or a bike it will enable you to explore much more if you plan to stay for short.
Written August 9, 2016
Hi I would like to know if one can actually hike to take in the views...and can one get there in the morning from zadar and return the same day?
thank you
Laura
Written May 22, 2016
Dear Laura,
yes, you can hike in Telascica Park, there are several trekking roads there. One day excursion is possible from Zadar but you need to stay whole day there to have the better experience. There is a direct passangers only line from Zadar to Sali (boat carrier is G&V line).

Hi just wondering what currency you all took to croatia, as im getting mixed views.
Written September 4, 2015
Official currency in Croatia is Hrvatska kuna!
Written February 18, 2016
To be able to cycle around lake Mir, is it possible to hire bikes in sali or do you need to organise in Zadar and take them on the ferry.
