Located just across Kozjak Lake from Entrance 2, Burgeti Lakes will be the first lakes you come across in the Upper Lakes area of the park (if you're using Entrance 2 as your starting point).

Beautiful clear (yet also blue--not sure about the chemistry on that one but I reckon it has something to do with algea?) water, as you'll see with all the lakes.

Clear translucent blue waters make the Lake spectacular, as it is also surrounded by lush lime green foliage around its edges.
Can you spot any fish swimming about - maybe lucky.

The color of the water on the lakes is gorgeous and the way it waterfalls from one lake to another is breathtaking.

In the Upper lakes section of the Plitvice national park - entrance NO 2. If you choose to take the shortest suggested tour - 2 to 3 hour walk 5-6 km long. Take a short boat ride cross the lake and than you walk the wooden paths cross and between the lakes. Burgeti got its name after ‘buka / buktati / vreti ‘ which in Croatian means ‘loud noise. n the bushes near the ponds there is an old stone building – the evidence that local people were trying to use the flow of water around here to power an electric generator which was since being abandoned. It is the flat area with some wooden walkways passing across the ponds, offering lovely opportunity for strolling around.

Full of trout with nice hiking path all the way. Boards can be hard to see. Suggest you take bus and start 1/2 up.No need to walk all 3 miles

Burget jezero is a relatively small one of the Upper Lakes in Plitvice Lakes National Park. It is located east of Gradinsko jezero and came at the end of our hiking tour H, which started at Prošćansko jezero.
