Beautiful beach but quite a trek

The road to Preveli was not easy. I was one of the few to attempt it with my city car.. a bumpy, rocky path hovering over the cliffs.. At some point I decided to leave the car and continue on foot.. it was hot but I wanted to "feel" the place, to discover on foot the oasis amidst the dry... More

We saw some reviews mention a 15 minute walk and to where sneakers but was was missing from those reviews was that this was a "hike" down hill on rocks and some rock steps. Very scary hike with children as there were no real guardrail and slipping could have been very dangerous. Once we arrived at the bottom it was... More

It is worth to come early in the morning as many tourists arrive by car or ship, usually after 10-11 am and then the beach is overcrowded. As we arrived early by car, we did not pay any parking fee (4 EUR). The stairs to the beach are quite steep and there are many of them, I recommend not to... More

The walk down the steps to the beach was hard in the midday sun, we thought it wpuld be worth it, we were mistaken. The beach unlike pictures was very stoney. Not good for sunbathing. Very crowded for what we thought would be a secluded natural beach. Liked the experience, but wont be returning.

it's like an oasis between two mountains... very good for a day trip. the only "negative" is the difficulty to get back to your car because of the "climbing" you must do when leaving but the view and the crystal clear waters will compensate you...

Not recommended in high season unless you like crowded beaches. The setting is idyllic yet it was negatively impacted for me because of so many people who kept coming as boats continued to arrive, which is disconcerting if you came down the 500 steps.

After a 15min descent down the cliff, you hit a spot that's simply and overwhelmingly beautiful. A little palm forest covering a river flowing into the sea, creating a beach island between the two waters; a taverna which is surprisingly good and enough trees to find shadow if you want to. And: at the end you have to climb up... More

The place doesn't have the best beach. We took the lunch to Antoni's Place , in The west side of the beach. You will eat like a local !

Preveli Beach is worth the 439 stairs! Dont be discouraged with this fact, but rather out on a pair of sneakers and start the journey. The beach itself is very nice, as well as the walk through the palm forrest and the river. Beachbar is okeish, prices are reasonable and food quality is ok. The only thing that may be... More

I'm still sitting here and, since I'm really disgusted I'm immediately doing the review and (even if I'm Italian) I'm writing it in English so that everyone can easily read it. We've ordered a Dako and a Souvlaki. The Dako was very unpleasant and the Souvlaki tough and served with orriblw fries (soft, cold, without salt, etc...). We were not... More
