Spectacular view over the beach if you walk in from the car park! It is a bit of a walk so wear good shoes and be ready to tackle lots of slippy stairs and uneven rock. We visited on a day after a bit of rain fall, so the fresh water river looked a little murky but even still it... More

I think it is the most beautiful beach that I have seen ever. We were driving through Kourtaliotiko Gorge. The last kilometers were really hard to drive as the road was really hard. Probably we did not take the best route (views were great but very careful drive) - we drived back over Karemes and Mixorouma, this was much much... More

Like the reviews say, Preveli is beautiful but hard to get to - a long walk down with precarious steps from the parking place at the top of the cliff beyond the monastery. But...there is a much easier way as shown on Google maps (for some reason, Trip Advisor always takes me to Apple maps -sigh). This involves going to... More

On our offroad-Jeep trip we discovered the Preveli Beach. Its one of the most beatiful beaches in southern Crete. Looking into the interior of the country, there is the Grand River with a large colony of date palm trees, which give the landscape a sense of Africa. At the exit of the river there is a sandy beach with a... More

It has a good beach and palm trees, we had heard. I had also heard that there was a road that now went close to Preveli which started right by the taverna beside the pond and the beautiful old Venetian bridge on the road to Preveli Monastery.

My husband and I found a sunny day in December to visit the beach, and we were not disappointed. The walk down to the beach is, as others point out, steep (and certainly not for those with mobility issues). But the view is stunning the whole way down. Some of the prettiest coastline in Greece. The beach itself is lovely,... More

You have feeling walking by some kilometres that you are at tropical island of asia. The river is unique . Just you have to be sure that you can walk steps arround 30 min.

To go down to this beach you have to walk down on the stairs around 20min, going down is easier but coming back up is very very difficult specially if you are not in good condition. The beach itself is very nice the water wasnt cold, there is even a path to see palmtrees and see a little river,You have... More

If you are looking to have a secluded swim in the crystal clear waters of Preveli Beach then you will be sadly disappointed as it is full of tourists who come by boat and car. We parked in the carpark for 2 euro's the proceeded to walk 20 mins down lots of uneven steps to the beach, you require good... More
