Benetos Skiadas, an ordinary fisherman, managed to revive the Greek Tradition by creating his unique, functional and hand made miniatures using materials only from the Cycladic land. And all these without making any draft or using any scientific instruments. He created them only by using the divine gifts with which he was born; observation, perception, passion for creativity. The result is excellent and all the miniatures function in a perfect way. All his memories and personal experiences were strongly impressed on his mind and prompted him - with the help of his skillful hands– to revive the tradition and his dreams. The visitor can admire a small number of ships such as warships, merchant ships and fishing boats which give you the impression that they are ready to sail. Gri-gri, drift-boats, steamships, sailing boats, triremes are all constructed with the traditional shipbuilding and are exact replicas of the genuine models.

A lifetimes work of a man who was a sailor. Dozens and dozens of miniatures old buildings, artefacts, and ships. A garden, mainly buildings and artefacts, on walks through shrubs. The museum houses a collection of authentic ships, perfectly detailed. This museum should not be missed if you are on Paros, it is quite unique.

This isn't so much a museum as a collection of one mans lifetimes work, a fisherman by trade , he has the most amazing gift to make replicas of buildings, boats, tools etc from things he picks up such as driftwood, shells, marble pieces etc. The displays are absolutely amazing and I would really recommend a visit to this little... I'm not a museum person but this was stunning. All the material has been hand made by Benetos Skiadas over his lifetime and is a labour of love. He is totally self-taught. In the inside part of the museum the craftsmanship in the ships and models is amazing - the attention to detail.... ! Outside are scale models of various... More

I visited this gem of a museum during a round the island tour of Paros. It is situated near the airport at the lovely Aliki village. 73 year old Benetos Skiadas the owner of the museum which he runs with his charming daughter Katerina has painstakingly crafted all the models on view with love and respect for the preservation of... This miniature museum exhibits many excellent boats, monuments in Paros and other Cycladic islands, and other objects created by just one man, a dedicated fisherman from neighbor fishing village. This place surely shows his skill through his detailed work on each objects, but also this hand-made atmosphere museum captures the tradition of Greek life and tender closeness of Greek family....
