Absolutely spectacular! I'm so glad we had the chance to experience this! I'd not recommend this hike if it's raining. It costs 25 euro from Los Gigantes by taxi here. You don't need a map to go trekking here, it takes approximately 3-4 hours to...More

This is definitely an activity that you MUST do on Tenerife. But be careful, this is an advanced track! However, for the breathtaking views, unquestionably that is an activity worth doing! If you want to only down the valley, you will do it in 3/3.5h,...More

We were staying in Los Christianos and considered booking an organised trip, but decided to do it ourselves after reading previous comments on trip advisor about it being a very long day. We took the bus to Los Gigantes, then went in the Flipper Uno...More

We parked at the Los Gigantes harbour and split a taxi with another couple going to Masca. We paid our return boat in advance at Flipper Uno and they called a taxi for us. You start the hike in the small picturesque town of Masca...More

Prepare yourself to go through Palm Trees, Cactus and Bamboos. Amazing view of the volcanic rock that makes you feel so little at the bottom of the canyon. Be sure to have food and water with you, because it is not an easy walk!

Quite a hard walk but you are rewarded with magnificent scenery, unlike anywhere else in the world. Take water with you! Highly recommended

Hi. We'll be in Los Gigantes next week and are planning this hike as one of our excursions. How much does a taxi cost (6 people) to Masca and how much is the boat ride back? (We are a group of four adults and two children.) Thanks!

The taxi up is around 25 euros, most of them are 8 seaters so if you are 6 it's cheaper. The boat back is 10 euros each.

Hi, In my opinion the walk from masca down to the beach is NOT appropriate for a 6 year old as at times there are large amounts of scrambling needed over very uneven and slippery terrain. Even adults of good fitness find... More
I've been reading that most people hike down from masca and take the boat back to los gigantes. What about taking the boat first and then hiking up? Or taking the boat and hiking up and later again? Or would that be too much? Many thanks for any advice

We've hiked down and up, no boat. It's fine. Unless you're really out of shape. If you don't have a car, arrange pick up by taxi. It's all available and easy to find. I don't know the prices, because we had a rental car. You... More
