Polop is a lovely town, perched on the mountainside. With fabulous views of the surrounding area, the historic cemetery is an ideal place from which to enjoy these vistas.

The cemetary is located at the site where the castello used to be. You can feel the historic présence. Some photographs of Gabriel Miro and some plaques (in Spanish and English) with information are placed at various spots.

The walk up to the cemetry is not that difficult, given that it gives you a lovely insight into the place and great views. It's only 10 minutes from the top of the village where you can park in the limited number of spaces outside the church. The walkway is ramped from there so no difficult steps for those who can't manage it. Just 7 or so steps into the cemetry itself (from what I remember).
We also found beautiful flowers in the garden when we were there at the end of September.

If you will be in Polop, for sure you have to visit this place. Even when you travell with kids (6 and 10 years old) you should climb to the top. Magical place and this view unbelievable. Really worth.

Polop de la Marina is a fairly small village, although it has many bars and interesting houses in the older part on the walk up to the the castle. The castle has the remains of the cemetery, no dead bodies. Well worth the walk up just for the views.

Lovely place. Slight incline to walk up but worth it as the view is stunning. Read the history as it's very interesting. No dogs though!
