Short ski tour
Feb 2017 • Family
This ski resort is a good place to go if you are on a tight schedule and just want to go for an extended weekend or on a short holiday. If your are like me, an intermediate level snowboarder, with children already skiing, and want to spend a week on the slopes, there are much better options in Andorra.
The car parking is not so great and you must go early, cause if not you will have to park on the side of the road far away from the station or over mud and rocks, which wouldn't be a problema if you own a 4wd jeep.
Another not so good aspect is the fact that there is only one teleski up in the mountain and people just push themselves in the line. In fact, the mechanical means are scarce and you have to wait a lot to go up, even in the green slopes.
But the worst thing, and I was there and witnessed some nasty accidents, it that most people have very little experience and instead of taking lessons, they just go up and often crash into other skiers. I was always looking over my shoulder or my kids shoulders.
The view from the top is great though.

Fantastic for family & Starters
Mar 2016 • Family
Fantastic place to start skying in family. Book the lessons previous to go up to the ski station, so you have trainers available (use their website).
Be aware that the snow vanishes early (End March/April).
Stay in Candelario. Enjoy the old architecture and narrow streets.
If staying more than one day, rent multi-day material - much cheaper. Either up in the station, or, when going up by car (there are a couple of stores when heading up on the right side of the road) with lower prices. Dowsnide, you have to carry the stuff up, but more quiet also.

For learning or a weekend!
Dec 2014 • Couples
This sky resort near Bejar is a good place to learn how to ski/snowboard as it has two slops for beginners. When you start to improve at it you can take the lift to the top of the mountain and take one of the blue slops where you can practice and improve as the inclination is not so much. If you are an expert you will get bored after one day as it is enough to explore all the slops. Although if you are in the area and you do not want to go too far away it is good to spend a weekend but no more than 2 or 3 days. Most disadvantage is that if the resort is too crowded you will have to queue for a long time to get the lift to the top again.

Fun, fun, fun!

My first time skiing! Was a great experience! I really enjoyed it. It's not very expensive and we can have some fun without going to other ski resorts more expensive, of course.

Not for Professionals
Dec 2014 • Friends
I've liked the area for people who is learning, especially kids - because its more isolated.

If you're seeking for black and high performance tracks that's not the place for you.

Decent small ski slope.
Dec 2012 • Family
This ski slope is not anything great, but if you are in the area it can make a decent place to ski. It has a 2 bunny slopes, and a main slope with side trails and a lift. It is not very long but will do. Weather conditions can be variable, sometimes it is warm, and then another day very cold and windy. The main slope is not occasionally closed due to high wind. check the weather before you go, or you might arrive and be disappointed because the main slope is closed due to weather conditions.

The lodge is is ok, as are the rentals. One bit of advice. There are rentals on offer on the road just before you get to the ski area. Being independent the prices are a bit cheaper and the quality better than the official rentals up at the main ski area. Competition and not being official means that these rental shops have to try harder than the official ski rental place. The only catch is that you have to take your rented skis up to the main ski area.

The price is about what you would expect this category of ski slope, but not overly cheap either. The number of people varies by the day, but normally it is not overly crowded, and waits for the lift tend to be reasonable.

In sum, it is a moderate sized provincial ski slope of average quality. This is not the quality of Andorra or La Sierra Nevada, but if you are in the area and want to ski it makes a decent option.

The surrounding area of Bejar, Salamanca provides many opportunities to be in nature, and there are historic sights in the area as well, such a Candelario, or a bit farther away: Salamanca, Cuidad Rodrigo and Alberca.
