The Jameos del Agua was the Centre of Art, Culture and Tourism to be created by César Manrique and reflects one of the cornerstones of his creative work: harmony between nature and artistic creation. The Jameos del Agua are located inside the volcanic tunnel created by the eruption of La Corona Volcano, one of the longest in the world, at 6 kilometres in length.

Not for the fainthearted or mobility challenged person but if you can manage safely a hundred plus steps down and up again on rough hewn volcanic rock then it is so worth the effort. It is all sited in an extinct lava tube or tunnel...More

We came here with the expectation of going underground. All in all it is not much more then a volcano museum and a lot of places to sit and eat. Not worth the money if you ask me.

Jameos Del Agua is a lava tunnel created when the nearby volcano erupted. it is like a huge cave, containing a lake, a concert hall and a "swimming pool". At the end of the tour, as well as the mandatory gift shop, there is a...More

If it's raining then I'd say this was a good place to visit. Otherwise I would probably give it a miss. Walked through in about 20 minutes so didn't quite feel it justified the entrance fee.

Some nice photo opportunities and seemingly endless cafes there, it was ok but nothing special. Can be slow going if you arrive there at the same time as a coach

There are busses from the town that go to the area. The bus timetables are easy to read so you can find the time there. If not, ask one of the excursion shops, they speak good English and are happy to help - not trying to be... More
