Loved this beach, very clean and few taverns that you can sit at to get some rest from the sun with good food and beer. We rented sunbeds at in the middle of the beach, the owners took such a good care of the location, everything clean and everything thought through. Our son could borrow things to the beach or in the ocean so no need to buy or bring stuff over. Waves are usually very good and everyone can find a wave the fits them. Bus station right at the corner!.

Fantastic little area. Clean sand, water and sun loungers. Good day prices. Quiet area. Safe bay, not too deep, children able to explore and even swimming lessons. Great cafe, for lunch with varied menu, they don't always have everything available but there is always an alternative. Lifeguard for added security and a European rated blue beach. Great for snorkelling as many fish easy to see with some rocks for exploring. Showers also available for rinsing off sand.

This is one of my favourite beaches of Chania prefecture! It's only 15 minutes by bus and less by car to the Old Town and yet far enough away to enjoy solitude.. but it has a homey vibe at the little cafe at the top of it before you head down to the sand. Lovely snacks at the cafe, cheap and good food and coffee and very friendly local-type place.. hardly any tourists seem to come to this beach so it's really great and peaceful even with organised sunbeds and umbrellas etc.. The fine sand and clear water and calm sea make it just fabulous.. meets all of your relaxation needs yet you still have everything at your fingertips if you need it.

Nice long beach with a great view of the sea.
You don’t need to buy a sunbed and an umbrella because in the right corner of the beach are some Big trees which throw enough shadow.
Also there are sweetwater showers and toilets and a small beach club.
Directly at the beach is a bus stop. The busses drive every 15 minutes from there to Chania.
But the water quality is not that good, because there are many seaweed fields on the waterside. In addition, you can find more trash on the sandy beach.
Nevertheless, the beach can be recommended for a spontaneous cooling. However, it is nothing better. You need to know .

In my opinion it is the best beach in the area. Water is clean and nice. A bit crowded but I have seen worse.

Great experience overall.

The far western end is where we came on several days. Good bathing when the sea is calm, sandy under foot and shallow for a long way out, good for the chidren and good sand for castle building, we watched one guy make a brilliant sculpture of a turtle to entertain his kids. When the wind blows and the waves get up it's surfer's paradise. There are boards for hire and you can have lessons.
Sun beds and shades at 6 Euros a set was a good price for the area. A decent beach bar at the rear will provide your drink and snack needs but the filthy and disgusting squat toilets should only be contemplated in an emergency.
The sand is fine and golden but depressingly tainted with plastic polution, how did it get its Blue flag one wonders?. There is a lifeguard station, we watched them go into action three times one day to rescue unwary swimmers in the rough sea.
Catch the number 21 Bus from Chania for the short ride out to this beach, sevice every 20 minutes.

This beach was great. We visited here twice. On the first visit we rented sunbeds from the leftmost set of chairs and the next time from the one next to that. Both cost 6€, which was less than the sunbeds further to the right, and both accepted credit cards. The leftmost part of the beach is best for children because there's less waves and a fenced area for kids to swim in safely. The water was clear and the beach was clean.

Nice beach close to Chania.Shallow water and cristalclear!
Best service from Panagiotis and Stavroula - they are in the middle of the beach. Getting drinks and food from the Piraha cafeteria was great.

We stayed in apts. just across the country road from Chrissi Akti Beach 🏖 €5 for two sunbeds and a beach parasol, comfy beds. Beach staff give you a small rubbish bin and brush down beds from sand to keep them clean when people leave. There are small lockers, and showers to rinse sand/sea water off,a couple of changing huts. Sea is shallow here so safe for kids,? There is a snack bar with chairs and shade/umbrellas for drinks/snacks. There is beach volleyball near by and hire kayaks if you feel sporty!! Or just lay out and soak up the sun. Up from beach there is ladies and gents loos, quite clean!! People also just laying on beach towels as well. Did see a few stray dogs if you see what I mean!! ( Odd poo ). But all and all lovely days in the sun. Nice place and clear water. There are some other beaches nearby.🏖🏖🏖☀️🌤
