We visited the plantation as part of a cruise excursion and walked around with our tour guide. It was a nice walk looking at old distillery equipment and the grounds. My children were not too impressed but they were able to run around outside while the group looked around. There was a rum tasting at the end and we ended... More

We spent most of the time wandering in the 40 hectares of gardens with its statues and art pieces, and admiring the magnificent owner's house that has been continuously maintained in the old colonial style. Lots of history and interesting self guided tour. Rum tasting was held in the gardens, and rum sales were available in a well stocked souvenir... More

Visiting Habitation Clement took us just under two hours, and led us through a a rich and varied historical landscape. We each had a our own speaking guided tour and we found the gardens, the sculptures and the old distillery workings both informative and thought provoking. The old plantation house was engaging, and we enjoyed the rum tasting at the... More

So much to see: historical créole house, historical distillery, botanical garden, contemporary art gallery, local art gallery and functioning rhum distillery (with complimentary rhum tasting). Also the audio guide is both French and English. Beautiful property and very well managed.

This rum destillerie is different from the regular ones. You can tour the premises, wander around self guided and roue the old open air destillery museum. The wareshouses can be seen, not toured, and the owners mansion is open for roaming around. The tasting offers an enormous veariety of products( cocktails, punches, unmixed rums...) in real glasses, which is stylish.... More

You should get the audio tour in the language of your choice. It was very helpful to hear the background and history of this place. Especially the story behind the Mitterand/Bush meeting here. This was a nice break from the sun and can be combined with a trip to Le Francois on a boat tour. The tasting room was wonderful... More

To understand Martinique, one has to visit a plantation and this is one of the best. The buildings are well restored and the gardens and plantations are magnificent. An audio guide is provided, allowing you to go at your own pace to view the machinery, the rum processing plant still in production, the botanical gardens, and the historical visit of... More

Plan on spending half a day here (at least). This is a real working rum distillery, with huge warehouses full of barrels. The smell is wonderful. You can also sample and purchase rum here. If you are worried about getting bottles of rum through the airport, they do sell this brand of rum at the duty free shop in the... More

The domain is not only interesting for his rhum fabrication but also for its exhibitions. Marvellous sculptures on the park and exhibitions fromage the Pompidou Center. Also interesting for the secret meeting between G.Bush and Mittérand to create the peace after the golf war.
