We took this trip as part of a package organised by Celebrity cruise line. Our Guide was very well informed and spoke very good English. The Plantation is no longer in use and the use of atmospheric pictures are used to remind us of the...More

We visited the Habitation Clement on the way to Tartane and glad we stopped. They charge €24 for two adults which I think is a bit high but the distillery is interesting and grounds lovely. The rum tasting itself is worth the trip and ended...More

Not only are the distillery's galleries both interesting and educational, the natural and man-made surroundings are beautiful and well cared for as well. Drink samples at the end of our visit were both delicious and refreshing. We are glad to have gone out of our...More

It was interesting visit. You could learn about how the rum was produced and have some walk around. Great part is the rum tasting at the end where you can also buy it. Just need to agree who will be driving back :)

There's lots to see here and the good thing is you can do it at your own pace with the self-guided audio devices (although a few of the stop-off points weren't on the English version). There's gardens, sculptures, the old rum distillery, the current ageing...More

We spent most of the time wandering in the 40 hectares of gardens with its statues and art pieces, and admiring the magnificent owner's house that has been continuously maintained in the old colonial style. Lots of history and interesting self guided tour. Rum tasting...More

So much to see: historical créole house, historical distillery, botanical garden, contemporary art gallery, local art gallery and functioning rhum distillery (with complimentary rhum tasting). Also the audio guide is both French and English. Beautiful property and very well managed.

Hi Patty, I did this on my own. (Really on my own as I went without my husband.) I flew down on American Airlines and stayed at a hotel in Trois Islets. The front desk gave me the name of a taxi driver and he charged me 60... More

I don't remember seeing any. Most visitors had rented cars or came in on tour buses. The area is pretty remote, there were no taxis waiting.
