Great views from the lighthouse and a number of other stops along the narrow, twisting, turning road. One does need to be a good, confident driver to make the trek, and the surface quality of the road is excellent.

Reaching Cap de Formentor, the cap itself and the road to it, is an amazing experience! Breathtaking views, beautiful nature and unforgettable fun - this is with what I will remember this amazing part of Mallorca. For bikers, you should definitely have some experience, I...More

One of the best places to visit in Mallorca. Get the car and drive up the mountain to have a beautiful view of the sea and the nature. Go to the first view and stop a bit to enjoy the place. The whole way to...More

We cycled from Puerto de Pollenca to the lighthouse at Cap de Formentor, which was a wonderful experience. For cyclists it's a great route, climbing hard and swooping down descents punctuated by hairpin bends. Wonderful! The lighthouse sits high on the hillside overlooking the ocean...More

We fortunately came upon this place by accident! The drive up and parking is a little challenging - winding cliff roads and lots of bicyclists! But the walk up to the overlook is worth it! It's approximately 195 steps to the top - but the...More

The road to the cap and lighthouse is somewhat narrow and the traffic heavy, especially when it comes to parking (expect long waiting times during high season). However, the landscape and panorama are impressive and really worth the trip to this place.

Ok being a bit harsh, but I advise drivers to think very carefully before they undertake the trip to cap de Formentor. The roads are narrow and twisting, with eye popping drops with very little to save you from certain death on the cliffs below....More

I've driven and cycled this route several times over the past 4 years. Today was a cycle with my teenage son. Ideally, you should go as early or late in the days as you can to avoid the hordes. It is always a popular road....More

We had a cloudy day and thought we should visit Cap de Formentor like we have done before. So did thousands of other tourists so beware of what the traffic volume is before going on with it. We had to turn around when it got...More

Probably the best views of our holiday were from Formentor. A very steep drive on pretty narrow mountain roads but well worth the drive. Views to Menorca one way and all over Alcudia area the other. There is also a snack bar and a toilet...More

I didn't take notes on that but they're hard to miss as it's only one way up/down and from what I remember...one major lookout on the left heading to the lighthouse and then when you come back from the lighthouse a small one... More

I cycled from Port du Pollenca to Cap de Formentor and that was a lovely ride and avoided the massive tailback of motorists. You would need to be a reasonably fit cyclist though. An alternative might be to hire motor... More

You will need to hire a car, it's about a 1hr drive from Palma. You could look at buses but it would be a long (and hot) journey. There is no charge to take in the views.
