I'll echo what a previous reviewer has said: check the weather - specifically the wind. We would probably have been better off on the south coast (winds were from the northeast), but we'd committed to going to a particular restaurant in the area and determined to make the best of it.
Parking nearby was surprisingly easy, and we only needed 4 minutes' walk to get to the beach, which is beautiful - a long stretch that allowed people to spread out and find space. There are lifeguard towers at regular intervals, so safety is good.
While the windsurfers and kiteboarders were enjoying the wind, some beachgoers struggled. A few umbrellas had buckled/flown away, which didn't bode well, but even our relatively cheap tourist umbrella managed to stand up to the wind with careful opening and proper spiking into the sand. Just open into the wind :)
Instead of swimming, we had fun wave jumping (we could go out quite far as the water is shallow for a long way in the bay), building sand castles and burying our eldest in the sand...
All-in-all, we had a lovely lunch (see separate review of Restaurante Lago) and enough time on the beach for the kids, so it was a win-win despite the wind-wind.
We'll be back when the wind is coming from the southwest :D

The Bay of Alcudia had a lot of wind the day we visited there. It worked well for kiteboarding and for surfing, but not for swimming. Our son reported that other times the water was calm and the swimming good. So check the weather before you head to this beach. Perhaps because of the windy conditions it was not very crowded. Mostly tourists don’t visit here—just the locals and people renting the villas.

Beautiful place for swimming, relaxation , beach sports or water sports. On the right side - view on the natural park of the mountain Levante. The village has some restaurants and shops, no hotels.

This is report based purely on this beach but firstly you need to know how to get there. If you are on the main road from C'an Picafort to Arta, look out for a quiet dual carriageway through fields with signs to Son Serra de Marina. Follow this road all the way to the sea and you will see the small marina in front of you. Turn right at any of the small side streets close to the sea on the right and keep driving, passing holiday homes all the way until the road runs out. There is a small car park at the end but plenty of free street parking nearby if the car park is full. There is a wide beach in front of you which is good for families. But the jewel in the crown is after a 200-300 metre walk along the beach away from the car park. On weekdays in mid September this beach was much quieter, the sea was warm, calm, clear and an invitingly blue colour, in a completely natural and naturist setting.

Dream Villa within walking distance of the sea. Beautiful Villa with its own saltwater pool; just 300 m to the sea in a tranquil costal town of Son Serra de Marina in the picturesque Bay of Alcúdia. The town is still unknown to tourists which l think is good as it’s quiet and just what l needed. Definitely another visit next year!
The Villas has all what you need; air-con, charcoal BBQ, washing machine, dishwasher and all the internal cooking facilities and not to mention WIFI; perfect!
Restaurants are walking distance, approx 10 mins and the local supermarket is just around the block. I loved it here and especially at this villa!

Don't be scared by seeing all the seaweed when you first arrive at this beautiful sandy beach....Walk along, 10 or 15 minutes, and you arrive to paradise. The clearest water and the softest sand. Enjoy the day, with or without a swimming costume, whatever you prefer. No sunbeds and tropical umbrellas, no bars or cafes along the beach so its all just perfect.

Truly beautiful beach surrounded by mountains filled with pristine water. One of the last virgin beaches in Mallorca

we rented a house here, straight on the beach. nice little village, off the beaten track, very spanish, some tourists. nothing much to do in the village but the beach is nice . basic services, 5 restaurants, a pharmacy, two small supermarkets. for us exactly what we needed. no discos, one little sea bar/ cocktail bar that is prettynicr - not too touristy.

A typical beach village - no hotels, a cute boat marina, rocky area on beach. Worth a quick visit.

Hi, is there a sandy beach with shallow waters for kids to swim? I understood it was quite rocky. Thank you
